PSA: Elder Scrolls Online gives away a free bug mount to all Morrowind owners

If you don’t mind saddling up on something that is straight out of an entomophobic’s worst nightmare, then boy is Elder Scrolls Online going to make your November extra special!

ZeniMax announced this past week that it is giving away a free Nix-Ox mount to all players who have purchased the Morrowind expansion. To claim the mount, you will need to log into the game by November 26th. And yes, this promotion is good for anyone who decides to purchase and play Morrowind over the next week as well!

This is the latest in a string of promotions and deals for Elder Scrolls Online around its anniversary. Recently, the game gave out a pair of clockwork pets and deeply discounted some of its DLC packs.

Nothing makes me feel like i’m in an Elder Scrolls world, like a bunch of idiots riding around on giant spiders.

I’m not even an entomophobe and I find that thing terrifying. I’ll stick with horses, thanks.

Lots of giveaways lately. Numbers must be tanking. I hope so after they introduced lockboxes. Godspeed in your failure Bethesda!

I looked a tthe content in the lockboxes the other day, and its all pretty mediocre / trash.

But then again, I absolutely despise the art style of the game’s player models and clothing / armor.

I would normally agree with you, but in respect to their lockboxes there is not a thing you need. Nothing in the lockboxes is needed at all to do any content. They are truly optional for those that wish to take part it in. They are one of the few who have done it the right way keeping it to mostly cosmetics and mounts. There are some things like xp boost ect but could give a crap about that as they do nothing really except help people that don’t have the time to play 24/7 get caught up.

Any gamer wishing for the failure of a game should just stop playing games all together. You are as bad as the devs that make bad decisions and try to milk peoples wallets saying stuff like that. So because you don’t agree with something the people that are enjoying the game should be punished by losing their game. It’s thinking like that, that is a major problem today. “I don’t agree with it so it shouldn’t exist” is a horrible way to live.

To sell lockbopxes you have to sell better looking stuff than you can get in the game. To make better looking things in lockboxes you must put your good artists on the lockboxes while the others make the bland. On top of all this – put it in a rng box.

Yeah. I’m looking forward to ESO to going kaput forever. I feel that taking part in a horrible system – thereby giving your stamp of approval on the entire horrible system makes the horrible system go on far longer than it should. It makes you apathetic to anything outside of your own experience and, in my opinion, a bad person yourself. I’d never live like that. I live by a creed of self-sacrifice, doing things that aren’t automatically gratifying – for the greater good of all around me – seen and unseen. I see those who aren’t – as selfish.

There are subscription games out there for those that prefer that. Some of us are willing to sacrifice a little in the cosmetic department to not pay a sub.

That is why it is good that there are options out there for everyone.

And to get the full experience of ESO you have a sub on top of all of this nonsense. How could we forget that no?

Listen. I get you guys. I do. I bought ESO and all the expansions before Morrowwind AND a 3month sub when I just started….the same week they introduced lockboxes. It was a tough uninstall but I feel better for never looking back. What a colossal waste of money – I truly regret spending a dime there.

Shame as the game is so awesome. And not paid a penny on lockboxes so far.

And wishing for a game to fail with the consequential job losses sounds pretty damn selfish to me.
