Dragon’s Prophet sequel Savage Hunt is supposed to launch tomorrow

While Dragon’s Prophet took a stiff nosedive in North America and was ultimately shuttered by Daybreak in 2015, the dragon taming MMO didn’t die off entirely. It has a stronger following and support over in Europe, so much so in fact that Gamigo is preparing a sequel that was announced for launch back in September, got delayed almost immediately, and is now set to go live this week.

Community Manager Ildruin confirmed the upcoming launch on the forums yesterday: “Savage Hunt will be released on Wednesday, December 6th 2017! That’s just two days! Buckle up!”

If you need a refresher course — and you do, since just about no one has heard of this game — Savage Hunt: Dragon’s Prophet is a free-to-play MMO that retains the dragon hunting and taming core. There are over 600 of the beasts in the game, as well as thousands of quests and PvP battles.

We do note that the game’s website has yet to go live and no beta tests were announced. Probably should keep tabs on Gamigo’s Twitter account instead.

Oh wow I forgot all about Dragon’s Prophet. I played it in the beta and a little bit after it went live and it was just a mess. The concept was sound but the implementation…yeesh. Might check this out later on and see if it works better than DP did.

No, Webzen took over G-Potato.

I wish Webzen had really had replaced G-potato … they may have bought them out, but afterwords webzen shut down what used to be their in-house operations and gave all their games to the G-pot people to run.

So it is more like G-pot took over Webzen’s western titles and then just happens to be owned by Webzen.

Ah another Runewaker catastrophe. Member Runes of Magic and how it crashed every 30 minutes like Ol’ Faithful? Member Dragon Prophet and how it ran equally as terrible? Member how both were over-the-top P2W cash grabs? I member.

I liked DP but the game ran like crap on Nvidia cards. Will have to see what this is all about.

I liked DP … It had potential until SOE vomited all over it and made them gut the game so that it would be easier to localize (like 6 starting areas cut down to 1).

The first one locked pretty much every quality of life feature behind a paywall. Hopefully this one turns out better.

No: replaced by southern rock and a bit of classic.

That’s really the only question that matters.
