One Shots: Hand over the presents or the reindeer gets it

Well, that escalated fast.

A showdown with a Santa Claus raid boss in The Division led to BalsBigBrother attempting an unorthodox tactic of threatening Donner or Blitzen (we can never tell the difference) with a headshot. A standoff ensued, during which police negotiators came out with hot chocolate and candy canes, and everyone declared it the best-tasting hostage situation ever.

“Gimme all your presents or the reindeer gets lead poisoning,” he shouted to the other side. “Heh just kidding; no reindeers were harmed in the taking of this screenshot.”

Last week I had asked our readers to send in their most Christmasy of MMO pictures, so that’s pretty much what we’re going to be staring at today. Feel free to do new year’s pictures for next week.

Ensign Jon Sleeper — yeah, I demoted you, what are you going to do about it Jon? — sent us in a few shots from Star Trek Online’s winter wonderland. This is totally in-universe and could only be improved by seeing Picard and Sisko chowing down on the gingerbread house’s siding.

Utakata went all out with giving us the different colors of the season. I picked this one from World of Warcraft because those snow globes are hecka fun.

“When Christmas is green,” she writes, “my grumpy Goblin Warlock was caught in an inter-dimensional snow bubble from Hell on her way out of her class hall in Dalaran 2.0.”

Yes, but did you capture the snow globe yeti pet? Focus on the important news here!

Or you could always take a break from the constant mind-shattering horrors in Secret World Legends and fling some fluffy stuff about.

“Nothing says in-game Xmas better than ugly sweaters and ‘funny’ fake reindeer antlers.
That and a well-aimed snowball of course,” snarked Ryuen.

“While Black Desert Online hasn’t exactly flipped the switch on holiday content yet (which gives me time to enjoy it in my other fav MMOs), they did turn on snowfall and holiday decorations,” said Toy Clown. “Thus my scenic love affair with BDO has resumed!”

Ready for our last One Shots of the year? Sure you are! Let’s see your best — your ABSOLUTE BEST — MMO screenshot from 2017 and a story to go with it!

Every week, One Shots shines a spotlight on the best community screenshots from your MMO adventures. If you have a great pic to share, email it to justin@massivelyop.com with the subject “One Shots.” Make sure that the picture is over 880px wide and comes with a description or story!
