Destiny 2 outlines its development roadmap while it’s gotta go fast

The latest development roadmap for Destiny 2 has arrived, and it’s pretty expansive. It covers updates through May, which winds up being the next three big updates, and each one has plenty of meaty content attached. February’s big update has the emblem/aura rework, reduction to exotic repetition, Nightfall high scores and score tracking… a fair amount of stuff. Check out the whole map if you’re curious about where the game goes from here and where it’s continuing to go.

Of course, wherever you as a player might be going, you’ll want to go there fast. The latest weekly newsletter covers the work of the sandbox team, and that team has been working on letting you go faster. Buffed glides, buffs to the Mobility stat, faster Super recharges, Arcstrider improvements… in short, make the game more mobile and fast-paced across the board. You can argue whether or not that’s in the best long-term interests of the game, but you can’t deny that it’ll make this more active.

These are just bandaid fixes and half ass additions to the game. Maybe if more info comes out on these things it will be better but at the moment it’s just meh.

im willing to give it a second chance after PC chat goes live at the end of Feb. Hopefully that will making finding groups and such 100 times easier than having to use the forums

Hoping they respond to the calls to make it opt-out rather than opt-in. A big problem with the existing “chat” on PC is that it’s opt-in to begin with and a lot of folks don’t even seem to be aware that it exists -_-

yeah, good call. I dont know why they are so against it. Its obvious that they DONT know best, but yet they are still being stubborn and resistant to changing things.

Bottom line, IMO, all of these updates and the upcoming DLC have to hit. They can’t be shooting par on this. They need to rebuild some credibility to maintain viability in the future.

Update schedule looks about as decent as one can hope for, and was a pleasant surprise in the middle of the week. TWAB was also surprisingly good, did not expect actual details on anything from the sandbox team but the changes look good.

This is all coming over the next few months so it’ll be slow, and we’re still basically “working our way back to Destiny 1” rather than building upon it, but I’ll take it. It’s much better than the Bungo we’d had for months, especially since they actually seem to be delivering on their promise for more communication in a meaningful way. Could still be improved, but it’s noticeably better.

They should just release all the content now to stop the bleed. It was finished in the Fall or before – might as well. But I guess they need the yearly dlc pass people to feel like they are getting value. lol

Content isn’t finished, they’re still working on it. Next DLC is in May, and I’d much rather they spent more time on it to make it decent and not repeat the painfully underwhelming release of CoO.

Unless you have proof otherwise.

especially for console players

Yup, I’m still largely only logging in for weekly milestones once a week at this point until the DLC drops. By then enough of the changes should be in to make the game a bit more fun to play. Then it’ll be the wait until fall for them to fix the rest of it and hopefully make it a bit more rewarding, too.

It’s Bungie. There is all the proof you need.

Just an omnipresent understanding of the universe and all that resides in it.
