Good effort MJ! Thanks for posting.
I don’t think I could go through all the effort of typing, etc. And the crying would get to me after a while.

You can just click the keywords, or type single words. And most places aren’t filled with crying.

Actually, I just bought it to have a look. I do enjoy looking around and finding stuff. Exploration seems to pay off, so far. I’m just in Highvale (I think that’s what it is), second part of the starter area before Resolve. I did go outside of the monastery to kill a Frostgeist. I’m enjoying the game overall and I think I’ll get my $40 worth regardless, even if I just play solo.

The major thing I noticed is that there are no environmental sounds. People just make these weird grunting sounds in the monastery. Out in nature, there’s no sound of wind, birds, or water. Just the footsteps and combat sounds. I hope they do something about that. I realized how important sound is to me in a game.

Welcome aboard! Do come through in Multiplayer, there are quite a few nice people in now. Resolute usually has a little crowd.

Yes, the sounds are a big deal. You just made me notice the lack of ambient noises. :)

Fortunately sounds are getting updated non-stop now. About 6 months ago a full time Sound Designer/Engineer/Artist (I’m not sure her title) came on board and has been really improving the soundscape. If you were in the game at this time last year, when there were combat sounds they were like a wet noodle duel. There were no footsteps, ui sounds, or grand finale sounds, and Ardoris sounded like a full on orgy all the time.

So expect a bunch more sounds for release in 2 week, then every month from then on out.

Since sound tends to get the least amount of feedback, if you feel up for it, go into the forums and post in the “New Player Experience” part. That gets eyeballs from the developers. They’ve probably got it road mapped already, but you never know what will cause them to shift something up the priority list.

I’m glad there’s a sound person there now. It will help a lot when out exploring the world the first time. It’s one of those things people may not notice if it’s there, but only if it’s not.

Missed it live and watched it late.
