Destiny 2’s Warmind expansion is live today – here’s the launch trailer

Will Warmind be enough to help Destiny 2 recapture the hearts and minds of Bungie fans? We don’t know the answer to that yet. But we do know Warmind is rolling out today all the same. As previously explained, the game’s second expansion includes the Mars polar ice cap locale, new armor and weapons including the new Valkrie relic weapon, the new Escalation Protocol endgame content, multiple new Strikes, and new story missions. The Spire of Stars raid lair will go live on Friday, so you’ll have something to keep you occupied this weekend.

“The team at Vicarious Visions have been fans of Destiny long before we started working with Bungie on this amazing franchise,” Creative Director Brent Gibson wrote last week. “We are fortunate enough to not only add to the gameplay experience, but the franchise as a whole by bringing the legendary Hunter, Ana Bray, to life! She has carried our banner through this entire journey and we can’t wait for you to meet her on this adventure. See you on Mars on May 8!”

Lol the story is 4 missions and the end boss is flat out stupid.

This is one of the worst efforts I’ve ever seen from a AAA studio. Destiny 2 makes ME4 look like a masterpiece.

Silver lining; the gunplay is still pretty nice.

Bungie must hate gamers.

Have the season pass so why not. Most exciting news outside of the exotic weapon pass is the fact that apparently the Bungie writers had little to nothing to do with this DLC, Vicarious Visions handled it. Really curious to see how that changes things, because I find it hard to believe that they could do a worse job with the narrative and dialogue than Bungie has done in the base game/CoO so far.

Meh. Not worth the $20 for me. They’ve taken enough of my money. Fool me once…

Also, is “Warmind” a long-game shot across Warframe’s bow? With the Valkyrie and endless mode, to boot?

Everybody needs their own reminder box.

And to never trust anyone telling you to ‘get hype’ ever.

So don’t. I guarantee there’ll be plenty of streamers and youtubers playing it for you and riding the hype wave. Come back in two weeks, see what people think of it then when they’ve burned through whatever little actual content is available. I’ve found that two to four weeks is about how long it takes for people to get off the hype train and start seeing the flaws in something, and it’s not like the price is going to go up!

Wise words, Etharion.
