I think the sound quality was the best I’ve heard in a while. I’m a fan of the new software.

Bree, you really inspired me when you stepped up to discuss your own issues. That kind of bravery is humbling and inspiring, and I thank you for doing so.

I think it is a very important time for journalists, even in a niche industry like the MMO genre of video games, and I appreciate you covering these kinds of stories and topics. I’m curious to find out if Gameforge responds. Either way, you might have changed some people today. Thank you.

As for the combat related question, I think we’ll always have an opportunity to play all kinds of combat. Right now there are so many options, that if a specific type or speed of combat is a priority, there is a game out there that you can jump in today and play. For example, you can play Kritika to enjoy their awesome Real-time combat, Blade and Soul for their fantastic and unique combo system, and also enjoy FFXIV or another classic-style tab targeting games. The one thing I’ll say is that I prefer when a game has less skills to manage, but more strategy in managing the ones you have. GW2 does a great balance of the two.

For what it’s worth, I find it inspiring when people are brave enough to share something so personal about their mental health, so thank you Bree. I’d hope that it gives people something to think about beyond themselves and hopefully to be more empathetic, while also giving a voice to those who suffer too.

It’s really frustrating when I speak out against that kind of terminology usage or when I see others do so and the responses usually boil down to “SJW” or “being PC” along with other more colorful insults that only serve to be dismissive. I try to go into the mindset of expecting the worst and trying to avoid insulting back and learning to stop discussing if I can see it’s not going anywhere.

As for the e-mail about faster-paced combat, I recognize that it can require more focus in the moment, lending to less chit chat during combat, but I don’t really believe that causes people to be less social. I mean, look at WoW’s tab-target combat and how much people talk in LFG-organized dungeons. Combat is not the only deciding factor of socialization.

And I also think that just because it’s not as much about slower-paced, overview-driven spoken tactics does not mean it’s not tactical. It’s a different type of tactical gameplay.

If people don’t like faster-paced combat, that’s fine, I hope there are games for them to enjoy, but I don’t like when there are claims made against it that don’t quite ring true.

The audio sounded good to me. Bionicall made a good point that you two weren’t talking over each other, and I didn’t even realize until it was pointed out.

Sound Quality was awesome!!!!!

I miss the older style of slower combat, I miss being able to just bs with folks running missions in COH. I miss just BS with folks in Dark Age. I think it all started with WOW where you just do an instance and rush, rush rush thru everything. It started to make me feel like i was an object being used, and less like a valued person/teammate/pal.

Also didn’t Dark Age have an expansion that involved underwater zone, Trial of Atlantis. If i remember right i left right after the launch of that, so i think Bree was right in saying most games do them badly.(Maybe it was Justin)

I think people didn’t like Vashj’ir because its size, i think Blizzard was trying to add so much content in the new 5 zones of Cataclysm, it takes forever to finish Vashj’ir quest line, i do like it but i doubt i’ll ever go there again any time soon.

Saying that, underwater combat is interesting and developer should not give up on it.

Good answers on terminology question … and yes, the podcast sounds good, no complain here.

Hot take: Vashj’ir was the best new zone in Cataclysm.

Definitely had some interesting designs and concepts behind it, but people didn’t like being stuck underwater in a game where underwater combat was never really one of its strong points.

As someone who listens the mp3 format of the podcast, it sounded just fine. I liked that it didn’t cause the two of you to talk over one another. As someone who has been playing Conan Exiles for the last couple of weeks, I highly recommend it to you, Bree. If you can play on MJ’s server and ignore all the server malarky, the game is fantastic! I wonder if the whole fiasco of PVE conflict servers is a knee-jerk reaction of someone on the team who is completely out of touch with the player base, or whether there is something more to it? Do they have someone there who is deliberately sabotaging their games to generate news?

how sad an MMO that is not elves or sci-fi and done poorly. Too bad they could not let it bake another 6 months to a year to put in more.

Does it feel like the industry is about to go through another seismic change like we did when everything went F2P a few years ago, or is it just me?
