Would you attend a Path of Exile con in New Zealand?

How does an ExileCon sound to you? Grinding Gear Games wants to know if you’d be interested in traveling down New Zealand next year to partake in all the dev and demo trappings of a convention specifically for Path of Exile. Understanding that travel costs to its home city Auckland in November 2019 would be expensive, the studio wants to gauge interest in the event before committing to run it.

Besides announcements, including the big 4.0.0 mega-expansion, players would get to hang out and talk to devs, play demos, buy merchandise, party, and revel in swag. On top of that, there would be finals to various tournaments. GGG also wants to run competitions that will grant winners free flights and accommodations to the event.

If this sounds like something you’d consider, head on over to the official forums to fill out a quick form to let the team know!

No. Too far away. I will however travel to Las Vegas for a yearly convention. It can replace the hole in my heart left by DBG killing the yearly SoE Live/Fan Fare convention when they were “not” purchased by Columbus Nova.

Being on the other side of the world – if I were to travel to NZ, as I hope to one day accomplish, I would not be spending any time doing anything video game related. It is far too expensive, time consuming and frankly just a waste of time in such a rich, original and beautiful country to spend a second on a joystick.

Never.

While I would love to go to a Path of Exile con there is absolutely no way I’d travel internationally for one. Heck, as a rule of thumb, I generally will not even travel out of a state for a con.

I’ve attended a few Science fiction and comic conventions in my time they are fun , its nice to see all the actors and creative talents but they have all be local to me in the UK . I am not as interested in gaming conventions but I guess if one was only a couple of hours from me I might pop along to see what they are like .

As a (really small) part of a 2 or 3 week itinerary of sightseeing Australia and NZ? Sure. As a single trip specifically for that? Nope. So it would be a 1-time thing for me.

If I was into the game, sure! It’s only a few hours from Melbourne to Auckland with no need for visas!
