The Elder Scrolls Online shares Summerset patch notes, trailer ahead of PC launch

You’ve heard all about the many, many features arriving in The Elder Scrolls Online when Summerset arrives, and it’s arriving in force today. (For early access on the PC, anyway. We’re sorry, console players, you will have to wait until next month.) But why read up on partial bits and bobs? Why not take a look at the full set of patch notes which are now available ahead of this evening’s early access launch? They’re lengthy, they’re glorious, and they’re far less focused on vague details than preview articles.

The patch notes cover both Update 18 and Summerset content, including the 10 new armor sets added to the game, the details of Jewelry Crafting, and the mechanics of the new Psijic Portals visible only to those who explore that eponymous skill line. It’ll take you a while to move through all of the notes here, though, so be prepared to take your time and really go through the details; there’s a lot to read.

We’ve got all the trailers, plus a recap of our top news about and hands-on impressions of the chapter while it baked on the test server, down below!

Not often you read this:

PC first? ABOUT TIME!!!

I fired up ESO during the free crate login, around the same time hooked up with an old mmo friend whom turns out plays ESO; I’m told that vet trials are the chit?

We were surprised yesterday, all of us on discord and logging in and hear someone say “Summerset!!!??? wtf?” was a really nice surprise.

Working my way to vet trials so we’ll see if they are the chit or not, but yea I totally hope it’s as crazy hard as he says it is.

I started the main quest and I have to say it’s a bit boring for me, nothing like Morrowind or Clockwork City. I went to Summerset and Arteum and although is beautiful, is also too generic to be remembered or amazed. I’m actually feeling regrets about this buy.

You can get it still (til the 25th) for 20% off from Greenmangaming using the code SUMMER20.

Apparently you can still ‘pre-purchase’ the game up until it launches proper on June 5th as well.

Did this thing launch early?
How many times does that happen, if so.
its quite a lovely expansion form little I have seen of it so far.

Yeah, it wasn’t really mentioned too heavily but on PC it launched earlier than the consoles.

Got in from work, patched up and bar a few add-ons which need updating everything worked.

I need to lie down now.

Very very well done. From the trailer to the game play.

Now just got to find an off peak time to play so its not so crowded, hard to see Raz surrounded by so many bodies.

A very smooth chapter launch for me, less downtime than I’d expected and a very straightforward installation with no lag once in the game. Well done ZOS!

Are you in North America or the EU ? I can’t get on at all it just keeps coming up with an error code .

EU, and as I was posting the previous comment there was apparently a problem affecting all EU servers. Gina acknowledged it within 3 minutes of the first post and it was soon sorted.

After years of knocking this for its launch and not picking it up since. I have made the leap and I pre ordered Summerset last night (bagging me Morrowwind in the process). I also did a one month sub so I can get all those DLC. Can’t wait to jump back in.

Plus its nice to see a buy to play game that isn’t pay 2 win with the sub. Just have to wait till the game is done dowloading to find out about that cash shop.

Don’t even think about the cash shop, the only time you’ll need to buy anything from it is if you want the DLC content without subscribing. It’s hard not to justify subscribing given that the free crowns are worth the subscription alone. Everything else in the cash shop is cosmetic or quality of life improvements, none of it is essential.

A few tips – take the game at your own pace, follow your own instincts so far as builds are concerned based on how you play, no-one else, and if on PC don’t use addons that show you where everything is – exploration is a key part of the game.

That Bottomless Craftbag though.

That alone makes me sub every time I come back. And the doubled bank space.

Thanks for the reply… I will delete the add-ons that show were things are now… I added them after looking up the most essential add-ons

I used to be like this – not using addons and such, but having used them now they are a nice QoL. While it does show where things are (like skyshards and lorebooks). You still have to get to them which is fun in and of itself. One of the things I like to do is run across a zone hunting skyshards, taking whatever quest I come across (which sometimes sidetrack me with the multiple layers).

It also makes doing crafting writs easier. Going to the board picking up the writ, running to the station, crafting, then turning gets old after the 100th time you do it. The addon you still have to go to the board, but it will autocraft for you. I think thats helpful.

Having a notebook to take in game notes. As well as having pins for all mats you find. I still have to find the mat, but once found it puts a pin there which makes it great when you need to mat farm.

But like the other person said, do what you feel, thats the best part of all.

That poor leopard/panther asset has been used and reused as an mount template so often by now I’m about to file an abuse complaint at my local authorities.

When did Queen Ayrenn dye her hair red, she was a platinum blonde before?

Reader

This is a picture of Queen Ayrenn from the video. The voice over speaks about her opening the borders when she pops up. The redheaded elf is a different character, which Dawn links. Hope that helps with the confusion!

I watched both cinematics and it shows her in the opening of the 2nd one with her normal platinum blonde hair. Maybe you mistook another character for her?

Reader
Dawn

That’s not Ayrenn. We’ve been following that red-headed elf in the trailers since the beginning. https://youtu.be/l2b3JTTazaw
