Star Citizen talks legacy armor and science gameplay

Strap on some legacy armor and check out the spiffy new helmet HUDs in Star Citizen, because this week’s Around the Verse episode is all about advancements in the game’s persistent universe. There is also plenty more talk about the lore behind the game world.

Another exciting development for the space sim is talk of the science gameplay. “Science” in this case covers a lot of peaceful activities related to charting systems, scanning objects, and examining alience creatures. The team gave a few new examples of science missions, such as searching for, intercepting, and destroying a rogue asteroid, and giving some first aid to rescued critters.

Catch up on all things Star Citizen with the latest episode of Around the Verse, which is waiting for you below!

Quote Syberghost: “That Will Never Make it Into a Game ”

If you say so. Do you feel better now ?
As it for Sure collapsed 3 years ago and every single quarter since then :)

Not able to handle a true game in development and Alpha state? No problem buy one already released and heavely patched. They are hundreds available which may catch you interest.

How many of those hundred planets we’re going to have at launch have they put into the game so far? I’d like to go visit them.

Its a bit like watching paint dry isn’t it .

Yep, but we’re also looking through a keyhole most of the time, so we can only see a fraction of the paint. Occasionally someone will crack open the door and we can see more of the paint, so we know it’s there, and we know it’s drying. Unfortunately, when they crack open that door it’s usually to bring in more cans of paint, and of course that will require more time to dry, once they get around to putting it on the walls.

When is this going to release, again?

Not being snarky, actually wondering what date I’ll be able to go into a store and BUY a game that’s fully playable with all the stuff they’ve talked about?

You had an extraneous “When” at the beginning of your sentence.

SC is open world pvp?

Star Citizen is the MMO counterpart of Squadron 42 (solo Ala Wing Commander).
It is planned to have up to 90% NPC’s and a PVP slider. So you may be attacked… or helped by both Players or NPC’s.

Current version is 3.1.4 Alpha. If you can handle Alpha with not so much gameplay yet it is okay. For more info about roadmap you can just go to CIG site which give the today planned roadmap for the next 4 Quarters (new gameplay, locations, performance improvement…. ):

There are ATV (Around The Verse) video and more every single week and Massivelyop providing regular update as well.

Well in theory, since SC is theoretically a game.

Yes. Most ‘towns’ are protected but beyond that you can be attacked anywhere.

That’s a positive development – focusing on gameplay instead of visual fluff.
