Bless Online apologizes for poor game balance while players find novel ways to break the game

Is there any possible redemption for Bless Online? This disastrous soft launch has many players throwing up their hands and demanding refunds (not to mention flocking to competing titles). Any road forward to viability and stability will lead through proper balance and better design decisions, among others.

Neowiz apologized on Steam for the game’s imbalance after the so-called game balance adjustment in patch 1.0.0.4. The studio went on to outline how it is attempting to shore up the high levels: “Our game balance goal is to bind players together for our endgame content. In addition, we want the endgame to be challenging. However, we understand low-level and solo players’ difficulties and we will make up for it soon.”

Balance is only one of the studio’s worries, however. Players have reported that it’s not that difficulty to utterly break the game by modifying Bless’ initialization file. Want to fly? Choose your level? Bypass restrictions? It’s all possible, and it’s allegedly happening. Perhaps Neowiz needs to get on top of this? Just a friendly suggestion.

Massively, please check your facts none of thats is actually happening. Please do a bit more of research before spreading false rumors. Source: actually playing the game and actively reporting bugs.

Consumer protection sucks, sometimes I think we need FDA style quality control enforcement. :P

Disconnections are still problem, but I am enjoying myself a lot. Would not recommend the game at the moment, but after the first major content patch in August my opinion may change.

…my memories of Age of Conan release shenanigans. And what gave that respective game devs rebrand of /Failcom. Now we’re on that road to rebranding the Bless devs as n00bwiz. /sigh

I’m not disagreeing, but I have to add that even though AoC was a mess, I stuck through it and made 3 years of awesome memories in AoC with some of the coolest people I’ve ever gamed with. I you are drawing the comparison and saying I have a chance to do the same with Bless, I’m encouraged.

I think they earned the Failcom title well before Conan. Anarchy Online’s release was such a debacle that characters would be randomly deleted, and I think even hard drives if you installed to the wrong place.

Anyone tried adding a short “GM_mode=1” line in the ini file?

People have enabled the assassin class for creation when it’s not even in the release and have been running around on them… so… yeah

I feel kind of bad because their website is ready to go with twitch integration and trending news articles about Bless, including from your favorite MMO news site… But the news is pretty much all negative even if rightfully so, and the streams are all offline. Granted, I don’t know if the streams stay offline or if I’ve just happened to look at inactive times. Maybe if as many resources had gone into carefully checking the game for bugs we wouldn’t be having this conversation. Either way, I kind of want to try it out when the game finds its legs and gets out of early access, so I’ll just be here waiting for you to get your act together, Bless Online…

Oh, sheezs! Seriously? When was this game developed, the 1980’s? You can modify an ini to hack the game? LOL! Classic.

Sigh, but I shouldn’t be surprised. The game is a horrible cut and paste of its regional counterparts. That’s all it is. Hell, they didn’t even bother with many translations.

Always love this video. Wasn’t the real one about a drug lord?

Naw, it’s a Spanish comedian (El Risitas) telling a story about his time as kitchen assistant. The whole video is translated here and it’s definitely worth a watch just for the heck of it, though the relevant part starts around halfway through.
