Guild Wars 2 runs a deadly bonus World vs. World week

oh the pain
The weeklong bonus for World vs. World content in Guild Wars 2 starts on June 8th, and it’s all about high risk and high reward. Until June 15th, players will earn 25% more track progress, enjoy an extra 50% magic find, and gain double the WXP.

The catch? The downed state is gone.

Yes, you read that right. No downed state. Your health hits 0 and you drop for good. That should wildly change a number of builds and force everyone to develop new strategies for a week, shouldn’t it?

If you’re willing to venture on a battlefield that’s far more lethal than normal, you’ll also have a shot to play along with the developers on June 8th. So it’s going to be risky, but if you do well, you could make some substantial gains along the way. Does the risk outweigh the reward? Hey, that’s what “high risk” is all about. And if you’re not very good at fighting back in downed state anyhow, not much will change.
