Did you catch the latest World of Warships Naval Academy video that came out this week? If not, we’ve got it for you after the break below. It focuses on American and Japanese battleships in Wargaming’s upcoming World War II action title.
The eight-minute clip gives you a history lesson in terms of real battleship construction and usage, as well as plenty of in-game footage that demonstrates the low speed/high armor/high range characteristics of the US battleship tree and the high speed hulls found throughout the Japanese tree.
The studio behind Izanagi Online is hard at work at another mobile fantasy title that could well be making its way to the west before too long. Japan’s Asobimo is developing Toram Online, which is currently in beta in the region.
While it looks to be a your standard cute anime title, Toram at least is getting out of the standard class rut by offering a more free-form character growth system. Players can mold their avatars by choosing skills and equipping certain types of gear. The title is still growing in beta, having recently added two large maps to the game world.
Toram hasn’t been localized for English-speaking markets yet, but you can still pick up a copy of the beta on both Android and iOS devices if so desired. We’ve got the beta trailer for you after the jump!
ArtCraft is changing how Crowfall’s armor system works. The crowdfunded “throne war simulator” originally featured a series of character-based armor tiers that allowed for gauging power level by itemization (tier 3 was better than tier 2, etc.).
The dev team now feels like this system is too simplistic, and is now aiming for a “horizontal array” of armor types that have various positives and negatives against different damage types, rather than the previous linear progression approach.
The devs have also published a lengthy look at all the work that goes into modeling a set of armor. Character designer Eric Hart is featured in a time-lapse piece wherein he creates cloth armor for the Knight archetype. You can view the video after the cut.
Console fans rejoice: After a lenthy beta-testing period, PlanetSide 2 finally launched on the PlayStation 4 in both North America and Europe today. Now folks who don’t want to want to sit at their monitors to play this MMOFPS can hunker down with their PS4s and televisions to join the ongoing war that their PC counterparts have been participating in for the last couple of years. Interestingly, what those players will see when they log in is not exactly what they expect. I sat down with Andy Sites, the game’s director of development, at E3 2015 to discuss what awaits when players jump into the game on their consoles.
It’s a day of grand restoration in Guild Wars 2, starting with the re-opening of Lion’s Arch. Today’s patch debuts what ArenaNet is calling New Lion’s Arch, a rebuilt trading harbor following its destruction last year by the hand of Scarlet Briar.
Lion’s Arch isn’t the only thing that’s making a return. The dev team also restored sections of the personal story that were removed for retooling. The revamped storyline features minor and major improvements, including allowing solo players to finish the final missions.
Want more? Guild Wars 2 players will discover the old trait system gone and the new specialization system in its place, skill points converted into spirit shards, a better leveling experience, and some combat conditions reworked to allow for more flexibility.
You can go on two New Lion’s Arch video tours after the break!

Long before NCsoft officially announced that Blade & Soul was heading west, fans were eager for the chance to get their hands on the game — including a number of us here at MassivelyOP. So I might have had a slight grin on my face when I sat down to experience a bit of gameplay on the Summoner class at this year’s E3. I also talked shop with Producer Nicolas Coutant, Social and Community Director Omeed Dariani, and Brand Manager Julianne Harty, who revealed Blade & Soul’s “full-access free-to-play” business model for the western market. We also touched on subjects ranging from story to closed beta and pre-order packs to cats.
Yes, cats. According to Dariani, “This game is all about cats.”
