Glitch-revival MMO Eleven posts under-the-hood video

Are you keeping an eye on Eleven, one of the two Glitch revival projects that have received Tiny Speck’s blessing? It’s posted a new behind-the-scenes video this week, one that might be a little technical for someone who really just wants to log in and play, but it shows how the game’s platform structure injects dimension and interaction into the world.

The game opened its alpha to 13 testers in December, widening the base to 32 players in January.

The video is below. Stay tuned for this week’s Jukebox Heroes, in which Massively OP’s Justin Olivetti explores the recently released two-volume Glitch soundtrack.

The insanely ambitious Ascent: The Space Game may make a new friend or two this week with the space sim arrival on Steam Early Access. Even better for its future growth, the title is 10% off on the platform until March 6th, meaning that you can pick it up for $17.99.

Like most early access titles, Ascent is still missing many features, although the developer claims that there is an overwhelming amount to enjoy in the game already, including mining, harvesting, colonizing, politicking, constructing, and exploring. Guild Wars 2 elaborates on camera improvements

Forget the living world; it may be that finally allowing players to zoom into a first-person view will be the most significant event that’s ever happened to Guild Wars 2 — and perhaps the world. OK, maybe that’s a slight exaggeration, but for those of us who have been frustrated trying to take screenshots without a giant noggin in the way, it’s a revelation.

A new dev diary talks about both the first-person camera view as well as the other camera options coming in March. “A new feature we’re excited about is something we’re calling collision sensitivity,” the team posted. “We’ve all been there — you’re running along, happily dispatching ambient rabbits, when suddenly a small tree comes between your camera and your character, causing the camera to snap in very close and completely ruin your immersion. Well, we fixed this!”

Other camera changes include zoom sensitivity, a field of view slider, an update to the position slider, and an option to restore to the default camera settings. The latest episode of Ready Up, which demonstrates the new changes in action, is embedded below.

Black Desert reveals the Blader class

Black Desert just got a new class called the Blader, which Steparu describes as the “fastest playable character” in the game. Bladers wield a sword — duh — as well as a composite bow, and they’re also able to conjure some sort of spirit weapon called a Tiger Blade, which turns them into a dual-wield class.

Steparu also mentions endless attacks courtesy of delay-canceling skills as well as effective evasion, heavy damage, and a quick dash that instantly closes the distance on targets. Click past the cut to see a clip of the Blader in action.
