Back in January, Hi-Rez formally announced SMITE 2, a proper sequel rather than an overhaul of the original, with alpha testing this spring and a soft launch before the end of the year. Now, the company has launched its founder packs for the game.
Of course, SMITE 2, like SMITE before it, will technically be a free-to-play title, and indeed you can keep on playing SMITE since it’s not going anywhere. So Hi-Rez is cramming all sort of perks into the founder packs to get you to buy one anyway. Here’s the basic pack:
“Founder’s Edition buyers will enjoy exclusive early access to the SMITE 2 battleground during the pre-launch Alpha Weekend Events, starting this spring. Access will be granted only on the hardware platform the Founder’s Edition is purchased on. Pre-ordering will also grant the exclusive SMITE 2 Cacodemon Ymir Skin. In addition, Founders will receive the 2x Legacy Gems Booster, a special avatar in SMITE, and a badge in SMITE 2, as well as a cross-gen Mega Fan title for both games. The purchase of the Founder’s Edition will also permanently unlock all current and future SMITE 2 Gods.”
The more “deluxe” version also comes with another skin and “ascension passes for the first 11 alpha launch Gods,” which will basically fast-track your reward tiers. And the “ultimate” version includes yet another skin, 12 more of those passes, and a few other little perks.
The press release weirdly leaves out the pricing for all these packs, as well as links to where you can buy them, but we gotchu: The packs run $29.99 to $99.99 right smack on the official site.
