The Stream Team: Vampiric adventures in Chronicle: RuneScape Legends

There aren't many games where MassivelyOp’s MJ can run around as a vampire, and even fewer that combine a vampire with figurines on a game board! She's jumping back into Chronicle: RuneScape Legends, the only place where she can combine card games, tabletop games, and vampires all together into one single experience. The Stream Team: Trying out Morvran in Chronicle: RuneScape Legends

As much as MassivelyOP’s MJ enjoys the vampiric Vanescula and the magic-using Ariane, she can't declare these are her favorites to play in Chronicle: RuneScape Legends. Why not? Because she hasn't tried Morvran yet! That's all about to change as she jumps back into the unique tabletop-y card game. Tune in live at 4:00 p.m. as MJ tries her hand at the newest legend to join the roster.

RuneFest takes RuneScape players on a tour of the Eastern Isles

When October rolls around, RuneScape players will be heading off into the great unknown in the Eastern Isles. It's a distant continent full of people who have never heard of player characters, meaning that all of your previous deeds are unknown. You'll have to start over from the beginning, meaning that veteran adventurers and greenhorns will have the same social standing (none). A small peek is available now in the game, but players who really want to explore the islands ahead of the launch will want to head to this year's RuneFest.

The convention promises to show off more content for the Eastern Isles, further content for the year to come, and new additions for other titles in the same family such as Chronicle: RuneScape Legends and the upcoming RuneScape: Idle Adventures. It's taking place on September 17th in London, and the tickets are close to selling out after being on sale for about two weeks. If you've planned a trip to London and want to find out more about RuneScape's future, you should probably pick up tickets sooner rather than later.

You don't have to wait until then, however, to hear about what to expect as the game leave beta behind; I sat down with Senior Designer Peter Brisbourne to chat about life, launch, and everything. Well, at least the launch.

The Crowfall team has stated its plans to release the Siege Perilous update this month for testers, and the Ranger archetype was originally scheduled to release alongside it. Surprise! The Ranger showed up early in all of her melee-and-ranged glory! She's a sneaky one. You can also check out a preview of upcoming changes to the UI and a full-screen viewport, if you're so inclined.

Other beta news? Oh, yes indeed!

Oh, yes, and there's the full list of games in testing just below, as you like it. Let us know if something down there swapped states without us catching it, we do appreciate your vigilance added to our own. Like some kind of vigilance gestalt.

Chronicle: RuneScape Legends transitions into open beta

Advertising itself as having "no mana, no minions, and definitely no random number generation," Chronicle: RuneScape Legends offers players a different kind of digital card game. The best part? You can play it right now, thanks to its release into the waters of open beta testing.

The card game spin-off from the popular MMO RuneScape offers both PvP and PvE encounters and seeks to "shake up the world of competitive card games." The open beta launch also introduced the dungeoneering draft mode, and Jagex has promised that old-school RuneScape content was coming next month. Chronicle's closed beta testing covered over 250,000 games played.

You can check out some of Chronicle's screenshots as well as its open beta trailer below.
