Star Citizen on some of the big ships of alpha 3.1 and the St Patrick’s Day event

I hope you like starships because in this week’s episode of Star Citizen’s Around the Verse, you’re getting two whole segments on just that. Ship Shape #1 focuses on the Aegis Reclaimer, while Ship Shape #2 is all about the Tumbril Cyclone. OK, so the Cyclone is a vehicle, but close enough. Both will indeed launch with alpha 3.1.

It may seem unlikely, but the team is doing a St Patrick’s Day event too, complete with prizes – including the Constellation Phoenix.

“The Community team will be holding a screenshot contest over the weekend. We want to see how you and your friends are ringing in St Patrick’s Day in Star Citizen. So starting tomorrow, get in the game and celebrate however you see fit. Then share you party images and we’ll choose our three favourites. Just remember to wear some green clothes!”

Black Desert patches in Rabam’s Enlightenment, new PvP modes, and St Patrick’s Day events

The Enlightment has come to Black Desert today – Rabam’s Enlightenment, that is. And only the first phase, as explained in the patch notes.

“Players will be pleased to learn that Rabam’s Enlightenment will be rolled out for all 15 classes as a free update. Every character from level 56 and up can access this new feature from the skills page, provided they have sufficient skill points to attribute to Rabam’s Enlightenment. Furthermore, players will need to have unlocked the subsequent skills and sub skills in order to combine them. Through Rabam’s Enlightenment, two main skills can be combined into a greater and more powerful skill. A Warrior class can, for instance, combine the Ground Smash with the Ground Roar skill to create Seismic Strike and a Striker can mix Flow: Mass Destruction with Flash Step, creating Flow: Back Step.”

The second phase is next week and will be locked to level 57, ultimately granting all classes two such skills total.

The St. Patty’s Day Event has been running annually since 2011, and you can check out the wiki for a full rundown of its offerings. Good luck catching him and saving the city at the same time!

Black Desert’s St Patrick’s Day patch brought its own beer

It is written in The MMORPG Code that MMOs, especially those of foreign pedigree, must indulge our most silly faux holidays. I’m sure that’s the case, else why would an upstanding game like Black Desert insert St Patrick’s Day into your immersions?

Yes, today’s patch sees not only the return of the dice-rolling Black Spirit’s adventure and new craftables for the Dark Knight but also beer. The Cold Draft Beer event, to be exact.

“To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, all players will receive beer on 3/17. Please check your in-game mail on this date to find your delivery of beer!”

That’s where I get all my beer for sure.

By the by, maintenance this morning was extended slightly for North American players and quite a bit for EU players; Kakao apologized for the extra downtime and told EU players that compensation is on the way, though everything is back up now.

DC Universe Online tests survival mode and St. Patty’s Day

Do you lack a Fortress of Solitude? Well, Superman does now too because Braniac has moved in and is causing no end of trouble.

Right now on the DC Universe Online test server, players can engage in a new survival mode that takes place in Supes’ arctic retreat. If players are tough enough, they can queue up to fight 20 waves of increasingly powerful foes in the hopes of gaining pants. Seriously, you can get Kryptonian pants from this, and if you’ve ever seen superhero attire, you’d know that pants are at a premium in this community.

Also on the test server is this year’s St. Patty’s Day event starring the always-fun-to-spell Mister Mxyzptlk. “For 2017, Mister Mxyzptlk has new base and style items, as well as a speaker that plays tunes that will make you want to dance. This year he’s also brought a House Leprechaun that grants ‘The Runaround’ task, where if you collect all the coins you are awarded a special Green Prize Satchel!” Daybreak previewed.

Don’t forget that the FLASH freebies end today!

Black Desert Online is hosting a Saint Patrick’s Day event

There aren’t a large number of MMOs that celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day, probably because it’s easier to come up with vague lore-appropriate reasons to exchange presents or decorate pumpkins than it is to port over a celebration of getting drunk and wearing green in the name of Ireland. Black Desert is bucking that trend just the same with a Saint Patrick’s Day event running until March 21st. Just logging in entitles you to three daily awards: a green dye box, green fireworks, and some beer.

Not enough for you? Well, the event is also making it a bit easier to be green with a big sale on green dye packs. You can buy a bundle one time per family for just one Loyalty, and you can purchase additional bundles for 80 pearls each. It’s not the most involved holiday celebration, but it’s there just the same.

Get lucky loot with Marvel Heroes’ St. Patrick’s events

Every week is a new event in Marvel Heroes, and right now it’s a week-long St. Patrick’s Day party! Not only can players collect four-leaf clovers that offer the chance to defeat a specific boss for goodies and a loot bonus buff, but they will also get a daily gift just for logging in. There are also shared daily quests and rainbow pieces that can be crafted into a pot of gold legendary item.

Additionally, Marvel Heroes has also released a new Colossus costume. This outfit hails back to the hero’s origin story, when his steel skin and strength manifested itself in order to save his sister from being crushed while working on their family’s farm in Siberia. If you’d like your strong man to resemble an old-time newsy or hard-working farm boy, here’s your chance!
