World of Warcraft’s patch 6.1 goes live on February 24th

Something to (shadow) crow about.

There are lots of reasons why you might be looking forward to patch 6.1 in World of Warcraft. If you play a Blood Elf, you want your upgraded character models. If you like racing around, you want the new racing feature put into the game. If you have a joke Twitter account for your main character, you want that Twitter integration. Good news for all of those groups: You don’t have to wait much longer, as the new patch goes live on February 24th.

Blizzard has released a new video to herald to launch, offering a quick rundown of the patch features, which also include improvements to garrisons and another step in the legendary ring quest chain. The heirloom interface is also en route; it will allow players to more effectively pass heirlooms between characters for leveling. That’s on top of the usual quality of life improvements. Check out the video just past the break for a quick overview, and get ready for the patch going live when next Tuesday rolls around.

If my computer doesn’t explode or break down in some other way, then next week should be a pretty ok week. :)

Krem progshine It’s been quite a while that Blizz is just getting things from other MMOs and including it into wow. They just did it with treasures (slightly changing it from GW2 special points thing). But hey, it might have been the expected in FF and it might be a nice extra little thing. But that’s the problem a small little thing that doesn’t add at all to the boredom I (in upper case) was feeling in the game.

Sorry but golden saucer, chocobo racing and tetra master kind of trumps selfies and epeen tweets. I’ll check in for 6.2

I pay $0/month in my MMO of choice and have no limits on anything I do.   That game is Guild Wars 2, by the way.  It also has a cash shop, sure,…but alas, so does WoW.     The difference is that if there’s a dryspell or patch I don’t like, I can just stop playing and pick it up later when I want without having to drop another dime.
Blizzard currently has no justification for the $15 a month subscription for their game with the measly patches that come but once in  a blue moon if at that.   It seems that they’re not spending a fraction of a fraction of it on content development and instead are funneling it into other projects such as HotS, Overwatch, and Hearthstone.  “Project Titan”, the now recycled into Overwatch, had a huge budget pushed into it, which was siphoned off from WoW clearly.

Dunno about all that, but it is kind of funny how both patches drop a form of racing into them, with extremely similar rewards.
Though, to be fair to WoW, it takes place in the Azeroth equivalent to the Gold Saucer, too, which has existed since the close to the dawn of the game.

Still no flying back in this patch? Kinda don’t care then.  Feel so burned from them promising flying then no flying cause its not in the artiest devs vision.   Think it was a bait and switch by Blizzard that trashed their rep..   Id be interesting to see the drop in subs in January because I think im not alone in my feelings.

I don’t know how people can continually sub to this game and play every day for years.  I created my account in Dec of 2004.  I’ve played every expansion.  But I’ve also unsubscribed for ~1 year between expansions.

How can people bear spending money to grind for rep, grind for useless epics that aren’t even epic anymore (haven’t been since BC), grind for mounts, grind for pets, grind PVP, and now grind your garrison?  People pay money to do these things?

Once I hit level cap, see all the dungeons, and some of the raids…I’m out.  I just cant do it.  My sub runs out end of this month.  See you in a year or so….  :-/

Pingles Yea, I kinda always wanted to try the pet collecting/battles. Racing seems cool, too. I wonder if you do it a free account.
