Crowfall pushes its Game of Thrones connection

If you’ve gotten the eerie feeling that Crowfall is not-so-subtly trying to establish a connection in fans’ minds between the MMO and the hit fantasy franchise Game of Thrones, you’re not crazy. From ominous bird imagry to ending campaigns in winter (because winter is… y’know), Crowfall is not shying away from latching its wagon to George R.R. Martin’s series.

Now there’s an even stronger connection, as ArtCraft has posted two pieces of concept art done by Game of Thrones artists. We’ve got those pieces in our new (and growing) Crowfall gallery, which is waiting for you after the jump. As a bonus, we’ve also thrown in the new Kickstarter video pitch for the game.

And don’t forget, we covered the game’s Kickstarter launch with a fresh interview earlier today.

Gas Chamber Gerhan A Dad Supreme Agreed. The best a game can hope to achieve with pre-release announcements these days is to persuade me to read their next pre-release announcement. My days of getting excited about something I can’t play yet are over.

Zaeja 14 men to 1 woman? Damn, that’s at least triple the percentage of women of any studio I worked at in my game dev days. The first place I worked was 50 men and one woman – and she was the receptionist.

I knew it!  This game IS about being in the Night’s Watch!  They couldn’t fool me…

melissamcdon eLdritchMD I will concede that the acting talent is top notch and not all the characters are awful… but they’re still all trapped in this homogenous blob that can’t rightly be called a story, not even a bad one.

The worst part about season 4 is the only character that appears in every single episode (Oberyn) dies at the end for absolutely no good reason. He doesn’t advance the plot, he doesn’t have any lasting interactions with anyone of note… he’s just another waste of time that gives them the excuse for more whore house adventures. =/  and the supposedly important characters you sometimes don’t see for multiple episodes at a time… -.-

sorry but I really could go on for hours about this… It drives me mad.

melissamcdon eLdritchMD  Just wait until the series catches up with the books.  Then you’ll get to wait for several years between seasons.  The most recent novel (A Dance with Dragons) came out in 2011 and there’s no sign of the next volume being ready for publication.  And there’s one more planned after that one.

eLdritchMD I’m still going to keep watching GoT but it’s not a holy relic to me.   Yes, certain characters are boring as snot and seem to eternally tread water, like Bran Stark.  But you have some amazingly good characters (all the Lannisters), and some incredible actors and actresses and production values and costumes and dialog, and yes, some delicious plot twists and surprises along the way.  I’ve not read the books, so that gives me a clean slate for the HBO version.   My chief complaint is that very little of substance happened last season other than big wedding.   Oh well, we did see Cersei and Jamie break all the rules again.
And 8 episodes?  That’s not a season.   The Beverly Hillbillies made THIRTY SIX episodes their first season!

If I din’t know better, I could say the first pic is ffrom Wildstar. The art and color is just too similar.
