Elite: Dangerous is coming to the Xbox One, according to a new teaser that was released at GDC this week. There’s no firm date other than the nebulous “coming soon” in the video credits and the “planned to launch in 2015” blurb on Frontier’s YouTube channel.

E:D is also slated to appear on the Mac platform this spring. You can watch the trailer by clicking past the cut!

McSleaz Red Dead Redemption. Don’t get me wrong, I wish it was on PC so I could mod it. But, yeah. No one likes PC games more than I do, but RDR alone is enough to destroy the arguments of console haters, lol.

hold on a second, another fake trailer, not representing actual gameplay, now promoting a console port?

I think the only games that had bullet time in gameplay was Max Pain and the wonderful Matrix Online. Mind you, if you actually played the game and get stuck in one of the conflict zones, it feels very much like that!

Are they paying for that with backer money who paid them for a promised offline PC game and
preordered DLC ?

The Backer money is all spent; they’re doing fine for the moment and hiring more people. (Mind you they needed to to get the support tickets sorted!)

Aren’t they supposed to add an actual game to their game, or will this porting go on until they have an iphone, android, symbian and windows phone version to sell?

They have. Community goals in 1.1 and the wings addition (1.2) are in Beta (and its very nice thank you very much) and that will be out next week sometime, They’re sorting out the in game communication just like SWTOR had to when it was release. The difference being that, I was still paying EA to play the game as they fixed these things. I only paid the for Elite Dangerous once, well apart from the ships skins I seem to be addicted to buying (mmmmm Shiny!!!)

Again they rush the release to the extreme, now for the xbox. The game will still have no content this summer. I can’t help but feel that they know that as soon as star citizen gets released, elite space will be empty forever.
Releasing as many versions and dlc’s before that happens guarantees mr Brabens retirement fund but leaves the game and the ip in pieces. But hey! at least he can retire in luxury right?

This is only about 5% related, but Space Engineers (a PC title on Steam for like twenty-ish bucks) seems like it has more content than ED, and it’s in either alpha or beta (I forget). At least with Space Engineers you can see (and build)! your ship.

Walpurgisnacht I was wondering that. PErhaps because No Man’s Sky is PS4 exclusive?

I would agree with the first point, I don’t think there is the content which you’re average call of duty player would like. However, with people digging through the client in 1.2; it looks like 1.3 (Codename Powerplay) will have new Arena type game modes, which when we played them in Alpha, were both intense and a laugh!

ED can be played with an XBox controller. It was originally designed to be used with one and works quite well. No dumbing down required (Although some players have wanted an extra button for the landing gear).

Now this one is an interesting point. Will we see xbox players and PC/Mac players in the same instance, I don’t know. I would be nice if they could get that to work. All depends on the MS terms of use. However, I would expect that all players (PC, MAC and XBONE) will effect the background galaxy simulation. So they’d all contribute to the same community goals, affect the trade prices and share the same exploration  results.

That’s up to Frontier, PC players at the moment don’t get F2P. It’s Buy to play, supported by online vanity items. I would expect, that you’d still have to buy the xbox game but I don’t know if they’d go with a sub or not.

That question could be asked for all MMOs. Are the players just Beta testing for the next release? Because when we highlight issues with the present release, its fixed in the next.

houyi1661 It’s in Beta 1.2 and it’s very nice for vanity shots and recording footage for you tube videos. You cannot use it to gain any advantage in combat, but at least you’ll have an excellent view of your ship exploding!
