BlizzCon 2015 is coming this November 6 and 7

Any uncertainty over whether Blizzard was going to throw a convention this year is now over, as the studio announced that BlizzCon 2015 will be arriving on November 6th and 7th.

The convention will be held once again at the Anaheim Convention Center and will cost $199 to attend. Additionally, the studio will be selling virtual tickets and invitations to a charity benefit dinner on November 5th. This will be the ninth BlizzCon since it began back in 2005.

The first wave of tickets will go on sale on Wednesday, April 15th, at 10:00 p.m. EDT. As Blizzard expects the tickets to sell out quickly, it has prepared a ticket purchase guide to smooth the process and make sure that fans know exactly what to do to grab one of these passes.

Divinity’s Reach would like to have a word with you….
….also Rata Sum, and The Grove, and even the huts of Hoelbrak. Not the Black Citadel, it’s got a smog issue.    I dare say that Lion’s Arch was spectacularly beautiful once…before Scarlet Briar blew it up (damn you! damn you to hell! You blew it up!).

Still, Divinity’s Reach is the pinnacle of “beauty” for a city.  The spoke-wheel design of it all with multiple tiers cascading outward from a central garden.  The aquarium arch way between it and the banking district.  Oh and least we not forget the Queen’s Pavilion built out of necessity to replace a giant sink hole in one of the districts.

breetoplay Ghostmourn Same. I know a lot of people hated to have Alliance and Horde in one place, didn’t like the “collaborate against a mutual threat” thing etc.
But I loved Dalaran, the vibe, stuff like Alliance/Horde-bear parades, seeing all those players. Loved the look, the atmosphere of floating so close to the big enemy and his base etc.
Gosh, I miss those days, and will hold on to those happy memories =/

Ghostmourn chriskovo Well, in the past it used to be “expac comes out one year, at next years Blizzcon the next one is announced and is being released about a year later”. That’s how it was with Wrath, Cata, MoP. So I would think they will announce the next xpac at this Blizzcon… if not, there might be an even longer wait until that next xpac, which would be a bad idea.

This will probably be the first time I’ll pass on the virtual ticket. Even when I took a break from WOW around the time of Blizzcon, I still got myself a ticket and watched the panels, contests etc, and liked the atmosphere a lot.
However… I haven’t played WOW since Mid-December now, and still have not the slightest interest or craving to go back. I have taken some long breaks before, but I always knew I’d eventually head back into the game. But I dunno, I guess WoD might have killed it for me. I didn’t enjoy Cataclysm that much, really disliked big chunks of MoP, and was looking forward to WoD big time. After getting two chars to 100 and doing the MC event, I eventually started to lose interest. While garrisons were fun at first, they got old really quick, and it felt like the few times I actually tried one of those Zynga games on FB… I lose interest very very quickly.
I have tons of fun memories from the almost 10 years of playing, and I don’t regret playing the game back then, but it seems as if that connection I felt to the game finally broke all the way.
Since I am not interested much in Hearthstone (played it a bit, not my cup of tea), HotS, Overwatch or SC, there is hardly anything left that would cause me to get a ticket, even for old times sake. Weird analogy, but it feels like being invited to the party of an ex after a long relationship and a sad breakup… you don’t feel like going to such a party because you’d be kinda in the wrong place =)
TLDR: Looks like I will pass on a ticket for the first time, but I hope everyone who attends in person or via the stream will enjoy it!

Ghostmourn Dalaran is still one of the best cities in any MMO. I miss it so, so much.

After the big show around WoD and all the promised directions they would take, i’ll pass on the virtual ticket this year.

Their current direction leaves much to be desired, the next expansion i’ll also let that slide and perhaps pick it up months in.

chriskovo Ghostmourn  If they stick to there “faster” release cycle we should start hearing the first rumblings of the new expansion @ Blizzcon. (Just a guess.)
Its all my opinion of course but i dont like the Garrsion nor the pvp area that has a 10 hour waiting time to enter. I finished the questing and story within 2 weeks :(
Otherwise, my problems with WOD are not really something they can solve
at this point, they are the rather large design decisions that bother
me.

Because besides the leveling experience, all the “content” they added sucks.
