Sadly the NPE  doesn’t stop at the early levels . Transylvania where I was questing prior to the change was tough but fun but now it has become significantly less challenging . So these changes do not effect only the early parts of the game

I am sure as always lots of people will applaud the game being dumbed down because they like to be spoon fed everything . But for me what set TSW apart is that it is an adult game that offered depth and challenge that many mmos do not . Sadly that is all gone now with this patch .  TSW is a horror game and to be immersive it needed mobs to be more difficult and threatening that other types of game . Sometimes to fight them you have to think intelligently and tactically to get things done (something I am guessing many people who play mmos lack .

This NPE is similar to Star Wars Galaxies NGE . I could no longer recommend this game and if you want a casual game experience quite frankly you can find better elsewhere .

Sigh, I’m back to not being available for the streams I want to  catch until after they happen.  It was fun to catch later though, and it looks like Funcom REALLY nerfed the mob density.  By a happy coincidence I just finished installing TSW on my new laptop, so I think I’m gonna dive into a new alt tomorrow.
Anyone got any suggestions for a faction: Dragon or Illuminati?  (My main is Templar).

Nordavind RooWoods True but I know plenty of people who dont want to spend that money either on the older DLCs it makes sense to have a sale to lure them back .

Razael “Where did I say in my post that I can’t handle gaming with other people?”
Sorry, I should have made it clear that I was speaking in general and not about you specifically. My apologies.
I do agree that MMO’s should provide options, but ultimately they are games designed to be played with others. I agree that solo content is a nice option. But, once again, they are games designed to be played with others.
Complaining that an MMO doesn’t allow you to solo everything is like complaining that your bicycle can’t fly.

Peregrine_Falcon Razael Where did i say in my post i can’t “handle” gaming with other people? I regularly raid , do dungeons and other group activities in lots of MMOs.
However on any given day i’d like an MMO to provide me with options to play solo with meaningful progression. So if people have the right to complain about how X raid is uber easy, or doesn’t drop enough loot, people also have the right to complain solo content in any MMO sucks, or needs to be improved.
Also there are plenty of MMOs that are designed to be played mostly solo or with small groups. TSW seems to be one of them btw. Neverwinter comes to mind too. GW2 can be soloed for the great majority of the game, other than dungeons. I could go on.
I’m just questioning what you said on your first post , that MMO players shouldn’t complain about solo content, and that we should go play something else.

Razael I understand that MMO’s nowdays don’t always require people to be grouped at all times. And I’m actually ok with that. I would like to point out that I never said that MMO’s should require people to always be grouped with another player at all times.

However, MMO’s are games that are not designed to be single player games. There are single player games that you can buy if you want to solo all of the time.

While it is nice when they have some solo content, it makes no sense to complain that all or most of the content in an MMO isn’t solo content. All modern MMO’s have a balance of solo content and group content. Exactly
where that bar is, what percentage of content is solo and what
percentage is group only content is up to the developers.
The MMO genre is a social genre designed to be played with others. If you can’t handle gaming with other people then stay in your basement and play solo RPG’s.

Nordavind RooWoods I think the idea is to bundle DLC once sales slow down enough, and then finally include it into the base game. (First step would be the Issue 5-6-7 DLC for the original zones.) This maybe won’t happen until ‘all’ of Tokyo is done.

This will be much easier for my boyfriend to get into. (He stopped around Savage Coast)

I installed the game and i’m on my way towards the Tokyo-ish direction, but I haven’t’ had a chance to do enough to really say how it is.  I am cautiously optimistic.
