When we first announced Neverwinter: Elemental Evil in January, our team was excited to introduce the community to our biggest expansion launch for Neverwinter to-date. With our efforts to revamp nearly all of our in-game systems, including the introduction of the level cap increase and the new Oathbound Paladin class, our plan was more ambitious than we had anticipated.
Our Neverwinter team wants to ensure that we deliver our promise of a high quality expansion, and in order to do so, we need a few more weeks to fine tune the Neverwinter: Elemental Evil experience. Consequently, we have made the decision to delay the launch of Neverwinter: Elemental Evil to April 7.
We appreciate your patience as we take this extra time to make sure the Neverwinter: Elemental Evil experience lives up to our expectations. Our team is extremely excited for players to experience the new story, zones, critter groups and additional new changes coming to our game in April. Stay tuned to our blog and social channels as we continue to share additional details for Neverwinter: Elemental Evil.
PWE has previously called EE the game’s largest update since its original release in 2012. It includes the new Paladin class, a new level cap of 70, and new quests, feats, and special class powers (“slottable class feature powers”).

Rustybladez Me too, I never managed to get to 20…
Bannex19 It’s still not cheap, especially if you buy a bundle, but you can unlock them in-game for about $25 now.
Wratts You have no idea… half the Paladin’s skills are either bugged beyond belief, or downright don’t function. And out of 10-12 bugged/broken skills, they only halfway fixed 2 of them over the past month+. And “sanctuary” they tried to fix twice, and failed. The company is run by monkeys, and not even code monkeys.
BalsBigBrother Your actually NOT being cynical, they REALLY ARE planning to add more lockboxes. I kid you not.
Are lizard people still $100?
Its good to have a developer push an update back than release one in a buggy state! Not that I would play again, it was so so p2w.
I just wish:
– the game had more to do with D&D than the setting (as well as they’ve managed their subsequent content-synchronicity with the tabletop game’s releases, it’s a colossal blunder that NWN doesn’t use 4e rules, which are pretty video-gamey to start).
– the game didn’t shoehorn you into a single facet of the class you pick at char-gen. “control wizard” or “great weapon fighter” first of all are terrifically meta character names, not to mention funneling the player into a sole facet of what are supposed to be otherwise flexible classes (ie in classic D&D – somewhat less in 4e and 5e, I admit – you’re not really a “tank” fighter vs a “dps” fighter, you’re just a fighter, and play the role you need to at the time)
– the game didn’t figuratively beat you to death with cash-shoppery constantly.
I like the setting, I like the responsiveness, I like the art…just some core aspects of this game that keep driving me away.
So it now comes out on the same day as the tabletop campaign book comes out. Nice!
Wratts ^^^ This as honestly Cryptic QA for the most part is usually – “Do the servers crash (much) with this patch? — No? — Push it then…”
I can wait for a Paladin then. I’ve waited since the game launched and I can wait longer.
