Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward editions revealed

June 23rd will be here before you know it, and with it comes Final Fantasy XIV’s first expansion. This past weekend, the team announced several additional details about the release of Heavensward, including the reveal of the collector’s edition.

The pricing for the different editions will be as follows: boxed collector’s edition ($129.99), digital collector’s edition ($59.99), and standard boxed or digital download edition ($39.99). The studio is also selling a combo bundle of the core game plus the expansion for $59.99. These editions will be available for the PC, Mac, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4, although the Mac version can be purchased only as a digital download as the all-in-one bundle.

The collector’s edition will have a number of neat in-game items for those willing to splurge a little bit extra, including the flying griffin mount, a Dark Knight Cecil-themed baron helm, a wind-up Kain minion, and a fantasia re-customization potion.

If you go all-out for the physical box as well, you’ll be getting an illustration by Yoshitaka Amano, a dragon mount figurine, an art book, and a blu-ray of all of the trailers to date.

Players can begin pre-ordering the expansion on Monday, March 16th, and will earn early access for doing so in addition to a few in-game items (such as the chocobo chick courier).

Sai_Arakaki I can’t find anything either. $130 is ridiculous. Digital only for me if I could find it!

After an unexpected level 130quest against the web server,  I prevailed and bought the dragon set.I wish it would just take my money right now. I’m still nervous I might not get the loot.

fdisk81  “Hey, as long as you hit cap and finished the main quest,…”

That is exactly what they said. As long as you’re at the cap and finished with the main quest. The main quest, as this is a story based game, has continued in every patch.

That said, to catch up to 2.5 will not take you very long.

Cyroselle Wait, so you quit before level 20? Even as dps my queue for leveling dungeons has never been more than 45 minutes at off-peak hours. If you had a guild, all you had to do was ask any tank to queue with you and boom, you’re in.

There is one, maybe two dungeons before you get your retainer? Queue for dungeon, do quests, fates, crafting or gathering, it pops, 30 minutes later, you’re done.

If you guild won’t tank a low level dungeon for you then you’re in the wrong guild.

A stupid question but does digital download collectors edition come with the in-game items but no physical items like the figurine and art book right?

Awesome!  I see the digital DL for CE for the PC version, but I can’t find a digital DL CE for the PS4… Is there one for it?  Wanting the griffin, but $130 makes my wallet cry.
