Pathfinder Online adding leadership ranks and vaults with version 6

Next week, Pathfinder Online will continue its alpha rollout with the early enrollment version 6 patch. The team posted a features overview yesterday to help highlight the big changes from the rest of the patch notes.

Coming with version 6 are leadership ranks for companies and settlements, shared vaults with permissions lists, milestone feats for each of the four adventuring roles, and more interesting and unpredictable monster attacks.

The team also posted the dates of the next two patches. Early enrollment version 6 will arrive on March 26th, with version 7 coming on April 16th.

Isn’t Pathfinder ‘offline’ a PvE D&D-type game?  It would be nice to have a PvE sandbox for a change.

_Ariel_ There is no pay to win aspects currently, they plan to offer a few convenience options that have different drawbacks than their in-game equivalents. The current two items have huge cooldowns (15+ days) and will eventually have similar craft-able in game versions that behave a little differently but allow some of the same capabilities. Everything else offered currently is fluff or trivial value. The game is based around having a working economy, P2W would throw that concept straight out.

_Ariel_ You may be right, I know very little about the actual game play but I do know the development has been going on so long and was so silent in the past that I think much of the excitement about the game has died. I would assume once the game actually becomes playable…if that ever happens, and it’s good ( I know big assumption :P ) that excitement will return.

Then again if it is just another gank box it will probably end up like mortal online…or worse, if that’s even possible.

_Ariel_ Agreed.  You can almost feel the tumbleweeds rolling by.  The lack of posts on anything related to Pathfinder online is deafening.

woolydub OMG you are right. Right down to the models, even the stones over dirt, fading into the grass. The only thing is the hair style which LOTRO does not have, and the color of the sky. But the tress, view distance, and cement fountain all have the LOTRO style. You have a good eye.

If you had told me the screen cap for this article was from LOTRO I wouldn’t have thought twice about it. That’s eerie.

I read up on this game and it seems like another sandbox p2w fest controlled by zerg guilds with rich leaders and huge ego. I’v had enough of that.
