Star Citizen 1.1 adds ships, landing system

Star Citizen

Friday was patch day in Star Citizen, so that’s the good news. The less-than-good news is that you’ll need to reinstall the game to play version 1.1. The whys and hows are included in a new installation guide post on the game’s official website.

In terms of the patch itself, there are a couple of new ships, new systems, new controls, a new manual, and last but not least, the first iteration of the game’s landing system!

janv 2017: SC is now 2.6.1. Another small patch 2.6.2 is planned before release of 3.0 which is a major patch adding full planet rendering with seamless space to planet transition plus many more update! This is a game in Alpha so pledge are to develop game not really to playing it as a released game.

Ok, sounds nice. I didn’t know you were also from Norway! (Maybe you told me before but I have a bad memory). :)

I would if I could, but I just don’t have the time, or the money for that matter.
I already got 2 holidays planned this year.

My best friend comes home on holiday in July from Budapest, and we plan on renting a car and taking a few days holiday on the west side of the country(Norway).
Flåm, Trollstigen and Geiranger among other places.

Then later this summer I’ll be heading down to visit him in Budapest for a few days.
And I recently was 3 days in Denmark so I kinda spent my holiday time and money already.

BTW, are you going to CitizenCon in Manchester this year? I bought plane tickets and booked a hotel room today. It’s the same hotel where CIG staff is staying. :)

From what I can read from its website http://www.evevalkyrie.com/ it’s a separate combat game, with its own maps separate from EVE Online. They also have another separate FPS game called Dust 514. Star Citizen will of course have both combat and FPS in one game.

One positive thing about EVE Valkyrie is that Katee Sackhoff (Starbuck) is the voice of the squadron leader. :)

Let us know what you find.
I would be interested in knowing more about it.

Darkwalker75 GoJammit I saw this trailer a few days ago when Massivelyop.net first reported about it. It looks good but I’m uncertain about what this game contains and if it’s part of EVE Online or a separate game? It looks like just combat to me … and if that’s right it won’t be a competitor to SC.

If it’s a separate game then maybe it can be liveable in the game, avoiding many of the regular EVE crowd, but OTOH if I was an EVE Online player I’d want it as an extention to EVE Online.

Anyway, I have to read up about it.

I think you got a good point there.
The Space sim fans of the battlefield crowd would likely go apes over something like this.

Where as I prefer the SC style of games, games like this might hold my attention for a week then I would quit, SC on the other hand could keep me for months to years.

So Valkyrie will likely not cause much competition for SC or ED since its a completely different type of playstyle.

Darkwalker75 GoJammit That’s what I mean by it being like AC. It’s drop in fun and then off to something else. As a battlefield fan, I can tell you something like this, that whole formula will sell like hotcakes, especially if it looks this good. SC and ED have a whole living world to play in though, so will it hold the attention of the people invested in that type of gameplay? Good question.
