Crowfall hits stretch goals for mounts, caravans, and free pack pig

With only a few days to go, Crowfall is hitting stretch goals left and right in its quest to be one of the best-funded video games of all time on Kickstarter (currently it’s at #17).

First up, the fundraising milestone of $1.3 million was passed over the weekend, which means that the developers will include both the mount and caravan systems. Next, the team is making good on its promise to reward all contributors with a free pack pig thanks to hitting the 14,000 backers mark.

Next up on the stretch goal chart? Tax-free bonus land parcels (14,500 backers), VR headset support (15,000 backers), and the God’s Reach ruleset and the artifacts and relics system ($1.4 million).

Who would have thought that after the horrible year for MMORPGs that was 2014, we’d have all these exciting new projects sprouting up in the genre.  I hope they are all big successes!

I’m super hyped for this game. A lot of you seem cynical about its chances or the motivations behind the kickstarter, but I feel fairly hopeful that ACE will produce a game that lives up their original vision. I only entered the world of mmos in the last few years, so my experience is somewhat limited, but Crowfall looks to be exactly what I’m looking for in a game. I tend to do a LOT of research whenever I become interested in something (read all updates and FAQs, watched all interviews, etc.)

Really wish they’d just ditch the VR and put in another rule set world that everyone can potentially benefit from. Don’t see the point of wasting resources supporting the VR niche within an already niche game.

Other than that pleased how it has gone so far. I’d personally pledge more than I currently have if the AUD to USD rate was not so abysmal at the moment.

Pretty sure it takes more than 1.5 million to develop a triple A MMO. Try 150 million

SoMuchMass dirtyklingon It’s true for just about anything, the more viewers/backers/players whatever you have the easier it is to acquire more in larger numbers.

A more popular project will garner more support. If I see you have 20 people contributing I”m going to be a little skeptical if it’s worth my time, if I see thousands of people, I’m going to be much more confident jumping on the train.

dirtyklingon SoMuchMass Yea but it’s going to turn out to be a bad thing, because most people that are buying into the hype are not reading all the details about the game that will inevitably turn off a lot of them. Information is out there, it’s just not as obvious or easy to find unless you look for it. This is very much a niche game and people are going to realize it sooner or later. CF is kicking it’s own ass with the overhype IMO.

Somehow I feel like this KS campaign has been around 3 days from finishing for more than a week now. Did they extend the campaign? Is that even possible with KS?

Are the developers still ok with us on waiting to contribute to the campaign?
