Sylvanas joins Heroes of the Storm’s line-up

Deadly but beautiful Sylvanas Windrunner is the latest champion to join Heroes of the Storm’s legendary roster. Today’s patch added the ranger, who uses a mix of ranged, melee, and dark magic to overcome her foes.

In addition to Sylvanas, the update debuted the Tomb of the Spider Queen battleground, improved the matchmaking service, increased the hero level to 20, added in new progression rewards, and started up the Team League ranked play mode.

Karl_Hungus I hate MOBAs and love this game so you may have a point. I like it because it is not a huge time sink but is fun right off the bat and still rewarding the more you play in terms of refining strategy and play.

nightbeard It’s a game where you can come back to victory by refocusing and changing up strategy but it all depends on the team and how experienced the players are.

She literally has no melee attacks. Who wrote this article?  :/

Sythalin I don’t know man. There’s really not that many items that have different upgrade paths in other games, and there’s maybe 2 secret shops at most. That doesn’t really sound like too much more information to handle.

I’ve had the opposite happen quite a few times. We try to fight for the objective, get owned by a superior comp, and finally give up on that and win by base racing instead. There’s a lot of “ignoring the objective is a noob move always” attitude among hots players that loses them games more often than they might realize.

thegirlwiththehair eLdritchMD Sythalin oh i know but his usefulness begins and ends with grav bomb. so whenever it’s on cooldown or the bomb doesn’t achieve what it needed to, you’re stuck with what’s at best half a hero. at that point – why play him over General Toolshed or Nazeebo?

Mate, if you think Gazlowe is bad in team fights you need to try out the grav bomb, it is one of, if not THE best team fight wombo setup abilities in the game.

I guess… if your team gives up and rolls over.  Most games I’ve played have only been decided in the last two or three minutes of play, one good team engagement can completely change around the flow and win you the game if your team can actually follow you to their core.

Sythalin What I meant is, heroes like Gazlowe and Murky… they do some of the stuff that specialists do but they’re too specialized, you know? they push well and gazlowe does mercs well but they suck in team fights… Corporal Punishment is good at pushing, mercs AND does a ton of damage in team fights…

Don’t get me wrong, if you love her, go for it. It’s always better to play a bad hero well than to play a top tier hero badly ;) I’m just not convinced about her ability to keep up with the pack leaders, you know?

Sythalin I agree, I’ve always hated mobas because they really boil down everything bad about pvp into a very repetitive setting. Hots may get bashed for not being hardcore enough but it’s at least fun and you win as a team. There’s really no advantage to trying to be the solo hero of the match. It tends to make you stand out as a lol player and your team loses..
