Skyforge developers respond to beta feedback

Launch or do not, folks.

The Skyforge development team has been listening to player feedback during the second closed beta test for the game. A new post on the official site specifically addresses several points, including the speed of unlocking the upper level (and additional classes) in the game’s Ascension Atlas, optimization, and the game’s weekly caps for progression in terms of currency and leveling.

Melee classes can look forward to receiving more improvements to improve viability when compared to ranged classes, and the early stages of content will see more diversity so that players can explore a wider breadth of adventures. The upper levels of the Ascension Atlas will also open up sooner, allowing players more opportunities to pick up new classes and diversify. For more beta feedback, check out the full rundown, which does a solid job addressing criticism without being heavy-handed.

This game is <INCREDIBLY> boring.

Joseph C ClassicCrime yeah thats true. i wasnt particularly pleased to find out about a weekly limit either.. until i realized that after the limit is used up you can grind a currency mainly spent on costumes.. lol
but still, fatigue/energy systems of any sort only hurt mmos, it seemed out of place in AA, annoying as hell in allods, and i fear it’ll suck in this game too. if they added a monthly cost that removed it entirely, i would find that acceptable

BGO Some people are liking it more than PizzaDoh, me for example.  Not anything earth-shatteringly innovative by any means, but I am enjoying myself.  I’d say give it a try to see how you personally feel.

FineFineValentine Any sense of story/lore is absolutely minimal right now.  I’m wondering if they’re holding it back for official release in order to keep the content fresh, or is this thin thread that we see right now truly it?  Either way I can still see myself having fun with the game, but if there’s eventually a story to had I’ll probably end up putting much more time into it than if there isn’t.

Joseph C
Stamina is pretty annoying as a F2P concept.  It’s nowhere near as bad as gambling boxes though.  If they can avoid that particular crutch they’ll get some of my money.

ClassicCrime Joseph C To be honest? Not much. I couldn’t even really care about the P2W if it wasn’t for the fact that they were stifling progression through grinding/playing the game using a stamina system in hope you’ll get impatient and buy your way to power. That’s what infuriates me.
Otherwise? I couldn’t really give a damn. I know you still have to be somewhat good with a class to do well, and there is scaling that’s done. I’d probably be playing the heck out of this game were it not for stamina… but yeah, moot point. I just ended up reinstalling Neverwinter Online. A pity, really.

So far I’ve enjoyed this game a lot more than i thought i would. Right now i’m half way through the paladin class and i like it. My only concern is how they plan to monetize on it. I think that will in many ways make or break the game for most.

Just as a side note i’d like to point out that this is more of a Vindictus style game than a classic themepark mmo. You got your main hub, and then you port to the various instances, they can be solo, group or open areas.

zyrusticae nearly kills it for me too, my toon really looks like a child from the back.. she’s the size of a 12 year old with a dress and hairstyle that look really young. then she turns around..

PizzaDoh Rustybladez it was exceedingly easy for me until about 1200 power or w/e its called, and then i started getting my face smashed by lobster people in a strange turn of events. the mobs at least start doing damage. really hope that’s not what they’re thinking of toning down

JonBuck ihatevnecks hoping its just a placeholder too, but i have a feeling those first few cutscenes are very set in stone and thats why your toon is a generic warrior man
