Marvel Heroes adds AXIS raid

Gazillion says that Marvel Heroes was the first online action RPG to featuring raiding, and it’s following that up with a new one called AXIS.

The raid pits you and your friends against the Red Onslaught, also known as the “terrible union of the Red Skull’s evil will and Xavier’s darkest creation.” It takes place in Genosha, and it requires level 60 heroes and “sheer skill” to kill one of the game’s “toughest bosses.”

You can view the raid’s opening cinematic in the video beyond the break.

Sorenthaz brix50 Marvel Heroes does a great job hiding the fact that it lacks any real gameplay depth, by covering it up with TONS of short lived activities that it wants you to do over and over and over and over and over again.

Did they add real dailies?  I haven’t played for a few months but the game never really had a daily grind when I played.  The shared dailies had crap rewards and were entirely skippable.

brix50 Spacejesus3k The revamped team-ups will be released soon and I just noticed this weekend they tweaked some of the beginning missions. There are extra Hydra agents to fight, some extra dialogue, etc. Very minor but nice to see. But yes, some new zones would be nice. Ever since I used Ghost Riders Ride travel power, I wanted a bigger map to just drive around a blow stuff up as I run over it.

Benthalak Do you feel that you have to do it? Cos I tend to do the things I enjoy doing and leave the rest.

I’m not a fan of the daily grind.

AthieV “easier” not “easy” mode, as in “easier version of Axis raid itself”. Green Axis is supposed to be harder than red Muspelheim, so that’s why it’s wiping fully geared people. You have to learn the new raid encounters first and add strategy to that gear, as it was before when Muspelheim was introduced (since there were no overgeared parties to speed run it at that point).

brix50 Do you seriously expect them to put something new in for “solo players” every single time they update the game? Nearly ALL of their updates are focused on solo play. The one-shots, the open maps, characters/costumes/etc. They’ve put out two raids in the time this game existed, and you’re complaining about that?

brix50 What about the one shots?, new cosmic zones, new map in the making, Tons of new heroes, costumes and companions? There are in fact so many thing to do solo in a day that you can skip some of them.

Besides they don’t release a chunk of content all at once, They put it out as soon is done. So because they released one raid today they forgot all the rest of playerbase? Next when they release one pvp (chuckles) update they will  surely have forgotten about their pve playerbase because pvp is the way to go…

Damonvile brix50  Yeah the last raid they did was back in July as part of their huge anniversary patch.
