One of the big ticket items for Lord of the Rings Online’s Update 16 is a revamp of the legendary item system with something that the team is calling “legendary imbuement.” The team posted a livestream today to explain how this system will change LIs and how players will grow them.

The idea is that players won’t be deconstructing and reforging LIs but will have an item that will stick with you for the long haul. As part of this overhaul, many LI legacies will be changed, removed, and added.

In other LOTRO news, the team posted a schedule for the next few months of events. Coming up quickly is the game’s 8th anniversary, which is slated for April 14th through the 28th. That will be followed by the spring festival from May 20th through June 3rd.
