World of Warships begins selling pre-order bundles

World of Warships may not be playable by all yet, but it will gladly accept your money now. Wargaming put several pre-order bundles on sale today for fans of the upcoming WWII ship title. If you are planning to buy one of these, you’ll want to do so before the end of the month, as the sale ends on May 1st. Bundled ships will be sold at a further 15% discount through April 12th.

So what is available to buy here? You can pick up ships such as the Tier IV Japanese Cruiser Yubari, the Tier V Soviet Destroyer Gremyashchiy, and Tier VII US Destroyer Sims as well as premium account time and gold doubloons. Wait, were they on the gold doubloon standard in World War II?

The studio says that current beta testers will receive their goods right away while everyone else will need to wait for open beta before the items are delivered.

It’s soooooooo damn good. I was a little unsure about coughing up $30 for the early access, but I’m more than happy to have done so. The game is great and I’m having an outstanding time with it. The only thing it’s missing is more of my friends playing, but that’ll get fixed when they go to open beta.

ForgotPants jgauthier45 It’s not that they are hard to master, it’s that they are very very different than world of tanks.  And quite a few people that played with me said they didn’t really care for them.  Myself, I actually liked the game and controls.  But, like I said, I would wait and play it yourself before buying anything.

Neither are teams of Messerschmidts, Spitfires and Zeros taking on Beaufighters, Wildcats and Focke Wulfs :P I find it hard to argue for historical accuracy in wowp when it doesn’t even have a historical battle mode…

Gibbins GeneMartin2 Wait. You can form teams larger than 4? I was told otherwise. In Warships, I think it was said to be 1 carrier and 2 other ships. If they had a full group party system, then I might give this another look. Maps can be like 8v8 IIRC and that would be plenty big for a guild to play in.

eLdritchMD World of Warplanes definitely has higher resolution graphics than War Thunder.    If not in game, without question in the hangar.   At least at 1440p there is no contest.   War Thunder has too much weird crap in it insignia-wise that breaks historical accuracy.  putting “weed” and “daddy” on your plane isn’t very true to the time period.

jgauthier45 Controls are quite easy to master, probably take 2-3 matches to get a hang of them.

PurpleCopper Damonvile I wish SD Enternet saw the opportunity that NavyField had back in 2007 and made it into a full time project. Alas, the world is full of short sighted companies just wanting to make a quick buck (ala NavyField 2)

Damonvile In my opinion it’s not a miss – since getting into alpha I haven’t touched tanks, am finding warships too addictive. Solo play can be less fun, but team up with friends and you each fill roles that transform the game into a far more tactical game than even tanks is. Let’s just pretend planes didn’t happen ; p

Sinaptic jgauthier45 The controls are basically like tanks – you have a forward and backward throttle that mimics a traditional ship – left and right rudder controls (which can be free or set to specific left, hard left etc), and then the mouse controls where you point your guns… that’s basically it. Nothing weird or complex to get your head around at all.

Damonvile eLdritchMD PurpleCopper Sadly it was never planned to have them on the same map – only to share the ‘Clan Wars’ territories etc – ie – an airforce attacking a landing point prior to a tank invasion – that kind of thing.
