Trion is upping RIFT’s daily and weekly quest rewards in 3.2

Trion has posted a note on RIFT’s official forums confirming that it will be upping the rewards for daily and weekly quests in tomorrow’s 3.2 patch. Daily expert dungeons and PvP warfronts will give out 80 Fragments of Madness, while weekly IA, raid, Nightmare Rift, and zone event quests will reward 160 Fragments of Madness. PvP kill and conquest weeklies will give you 480 FoMs, while the game’s new crafting weekly allows you to choose 640 FoMs as your reward.

Trion is advising players to avoid completing the quests until the update is live.

@Carthoris well said. I dont undst why some ppl just curse Trion for nothing. I dont have time to AA, but it’s a decent game even with colofur dolphins. RIFT has an amazing lore, i read ALL the quest and the plot, art design, sound are brilliant – however i dont like melee combat… its dull. Defiance is a decent shotter mmo… nice ambience, goods skills, many bugs ok… the live action serie is meh-ok… Even Trove has an interesting game style.
Trion is not worse or best game studio… they have 4 years old (i think), three main games and a lot of potential to be better… i see no reason to throw up in a company tha is not coward to take chances.

Luckinrio Lots of people think that everything that went wrong with Archeage was 100% on Trion (and XL doesn’t exist or something), and that the company is incapable of managing any other game correctly. This guy looks like one of them.

They always seem surprised when you point out that the company has 3 games of its own that don’t totally suck, and confused at the possibility that maybe the people who actually developed the game and have total control over it might have a hand in the poor design and implementation.

Edany (AmberACurtis)  When the game launched it had none of the grind problems and it worked fine. For some reason, the devs and community managers are adamant that gating everything behind daily grinds and slowing gear acquisition makes for a better game. I honestly consider everything else about Rift to be the best of the best but the grind is just so oppressive it drives me away.

I miss when you could poopsock experts for a weekend and get fully geared, or when it didn’t take literal months to get PvP geared.

After grinding out two or three sets of PvP gear, I just… couldn’t… do it again. And the rate of drop for the currency vs. the price you had to pay to unlock the extra slots + gear farming… no way in hell I was sticking around.

Their PvE is okay, extra generic vanilla flavored type of okay, but not worthy enough to stick around. Their PvP / Scenarios are a joke due to gear discrepancies – if they could or would fix that, it would be far more fun and I would reconsider heading back.

Their cash shop was okay to me too, it never seemed obtrusive or in your face all the time.

All in all – I just can’t get past the goddamned daily grinds they want you to do. I’d like to find whoever invented the concept of doing the same shit over and over and over every single day and kick them in the junk. Hard.

Pixelmancer They might have done the same exp curve that they did with the last expansion. In that, they made the last 10 levels take as long to level from 1-50

Luckinrio “and RIFT deserves a fixed column”
No it doesn’t. There are better games with more professional management and design and with larger player communities.

Perhaps Trion does, but that’s mainly because of the comedic value of a large part of their news.

When Rift launched I subbed for a couple of months, enough to get a character to level 50. It was a fun levelling experience from questing though I never ran many of the dungeons. Dipped in briefly during the server merges / F2P transition, and now once more, blasting through the expansion stuff. Might be spending a bit more time in it for a while now that it’s free. Feels a tad grindier than I remember, but not crushingly bad (at least not where I am at lvl 61).

I couldnt quit Rift… idk why. I like dimensions (it turned something adictive to me), minions were good mechanism to reward active players, arctifacts hunting is somehow funny and i’m in a new guild now… it’s cool to see members asking help for something that u didnt remember since P2P model… lol
But sometimes i find my cleric squishy without nightmare gear.
