EverQuest test server accidentally discounts cash shop items to pennies

Ominous? Does that have the same root?

Let’s try to walk through this particular sequence of events; it isn’t pretty. EverQuest puts a new patch update on the test servers with some minor but important shifts to how the game plays. That’s a good thing, naturally. Then someone takes a peek at the in-game cash shop and notices that the items there are… cheap. Too cheap. In the realm of 10 SC cheap. And not just items for EverQuest, either.

What happens next becomes fuzzy because the forums have since been purged with fire to remove any references to what took place, but some players took those unbelievable discounts as a sign that it was time to spend spend spend and wound up banned, and threads discussing what happened were subsequently locked and pruned. That makes the whole issue a bit of a he-said-she-said, but makes an already shady situation seem a bit shadier.

Look at this nonsense. Roshen banned me from the EQ forums on another account (probably all of my accounts) and this is the reason he listed. Yeah, Daybreak CS and Community Relations aren’t trying to censor me and aren’t going out of their way to discriminate against me at all.

Well even after the Better Business Bureau complaint they are refusing to budge and claiming that trading LoN packs from one of my accounts to my main account and opening them is worse than what everyone else did. They called me a malicious thief and claimed I intentionally exploited the Marketplace while letting most others off with no punishment and not deleting the things they bought during the glitch.
Instead of being reasonable and deleting the LoN stuff that I listed both in the petitions and here they claim I am a dirt bag and that due to my history (they keep changing reasons to justify their decision) they refuse to make an exception. So not only have they discriminated against me they are also trying to paint me as a bad guy.
As usual Daybreak’s CS is both biased and hypocritical and their PR guy is just spewing company drivel while Smed does his best to put them out of business with foolish statements and even more foolish decisions. I guess they don’t want revenue and want to run off every paying customer they possibly can to make a point. I hope it’s worth it when they are all out of a job like those that they laid off.

Clearlee Chatterbox BrandonBrown1 Not that I’m aware of. Waiting to hear back about the BBB complaint from Daybreak maybe this week. They’re just trying to make me the scapegoat while sweeping the incident under the rug and letting everyone else off the hook for the same thing to varying degrees. I’ll keep fighting them though one way or the other.

Skyewauker CrowingOne A Dad Supreme vemerce We got a “Flash Sale” MOTD pop up on Weds. on Live Servers. Nothing was actually on sale, but we HAVE had real Flash Sales.  You seem to forget that this happened on the TEST server.

RyRoshen Oh cut the crap!  If there’s nothing in the EULA you can get players on, you make something up.  God, I hate liars!

Archebius CrowingOne Sorry, I WISH that’s what Everquest forums are for.  As people have said, anyone who doesn’t toe the party line is suspended or banned.

paragonlostinspace Remember when SoE nerfed all sorts of mass killing, claiming that it was stressing their servers?  They posted graphs showing the loads occurred during Asian prime time, not US prime time.  They did the mass hide/wipe thing all over their forums.  The reality was, it as all a scam to sell heroic characters.
