Land of Britain shows off new UE4 screenshots

Uh.

Wondering why the Land of Britain developers have gone quiet? Probably not, as we hadn’t covered the title before today. Regardless, we have an answer to that question, as the game has apparently been swapping to Unreal Engine 4 and has a few new screenshots for fans to look at. They’re all in the gallery, naturally.

The conversion to a new engine has forced the developers to postpone their crowdfunding push, but when that push finally goes live, it’s going to look a fair bit nicer. If you’re unfamiliar with the game – which is understandable, as explained above – know that it promises to be a fantasy MMORPG set in a mythical land of Britain with a war between three kingdoms and an in-depth crafting system. Seems like a solid premise.

Damonvile Gibbins “..Online” did serve a purpose during the 1990s and even 2000s when a lot of new or even old gamers then were not very familiar about online capabilities, and would even buy games and be ignorant that they needed an Internet connection. In these 2010s though its hilariously silly, and if I see it happen in the 2020s (ooo the Internet of Things era!) I’ll just laugh my ass off.

Tamanous Ecchiboy1 Pssh oh please number of good fully released crowd funded mmos still remains 0. But the number of scam artist running away with someone else hard earned cash seems to be steadily rising and by the look of this game or hallway it seems that number will soon increase by 1.

The seven screenshots all look like the same location from different angles. Maybe they should call it “Land of Britain Mines”? You’d think they’d share a more varied collection of screenshots.

Gibbins I think calling your mmo anything followed by ” online” is about as crappy of a name as you can give it. It’s an mmo…of course it’s going to be online…..So all of these names are an improvement imo.

If you guys are more technicians than artists check out Houdini by sidefx. Everything is procedural and they recently announced a cool plug in for ue4. (they’ve had one for unity for awhile). It does cost 100 or 200 depending on version but has some cool features. (usual free stuff with watermarks to try it out)

This game better be extremely British.

I looked over their website and there’s just nothing there.  A few sketches, a few images (posted in this article) and a couple of generic ideas about gameplay.  I’d be very wary of this title seeking funds.

Sick of the chance to get games made NO major developer would ever bother to make? Sick of 100% optional donations that have zero impact on you? The system exists because the normal avenues to make games have shriveled up. Let the crap die and applaud the chance a great game is made out of the process. We wouldn’t see them otherwise.
