WRUP: What ever happened with that button thing edition

Does anyone remember this? This was a thing that happened. I wrote a news post about it. A thing was done with a button, stuff took place… I mean, I seriously never bothered checking up on it again, what happened when the timer on that ran out? Does anyone know? Was that the button that kept the world turning? Is the world still turning? We might want to get out and check.

The important thing is that I’m curious about what ever wound up happening with the button, but not curious enough to do the five seconds of research on Google to answer the question. Maybe there were kittens involved, who knows.

Anyhow, that was all I had for the week. I’m packing for a trip again, I’m distracted. Listen, just… head on down to the comments and let us know what you’re playing this weekend, like we did up above. It’s What Are You Playing, you know how the deal works.

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): I’ll probably clock some time with Guild Wars 2 or maybe even Guild Wars for some anniversary shenanigans. And I’ll probably poke my head into Ultima Online. Yes, people still play that game.

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): I’m traveling out of state again next week, so I’m going to get my ducks in a row in Final Fantasy XIV and World of Warcraft before I leave, along with some puttering about in various Steam titles.

Mike Foster (@MikedotFoster, blog): A friend and I just picked up BattleBlock Theater; we’re having a ball with that. Might go back through Dark Souls, might do some Dota 2.

MJ Guthrie (@MJ_Guthrie, blog): I’ll be up to no good in Grand Theft Auto Online! And when I break from stealing cars there I will be looking for cars to joyride in in H1Z1. I also plan on completing at least one Heritage Quest in EverQuest II with friends.

Tina Lauro (@purpletinabeans): I’ve already started playing Guild Wars 2, and I’m not planning on moving away from it for most of the weekend. Unless I squeeze in more testing of The Elder Scrolls Online on PS4. I’m totally procrastinating because my finals are in about 2 weeks, so don’t tell my tutors…

Your turn!

I am not sure what to say, but thank you! Although I am busy right now with what I got. And when I can’t find the right guild…I can always go and blow things up. So I’ll leave you with a rain check for now…hope you don’t mind. :)

ManastuUtakata AdeptusEnginus What WoW server are you on for RP? I was on Emerald Dream when I was playing, and I didn’t find much snobbery (alliance side, at least) outside of the really big RP-PVP hybrid guilds, and even then I got the impression it was moreso leadership and less-so players themselves.
Yeah, RP in XIV seems to be very laid back and less intense, at least from what I’ve seen (again, haven’t actively participated myself) which I attribute to the fact the game itself is far more laid back and less intense…though it can apparently get a tad ridiculous. My friend’s RP guild at one point had a session that lasted like, some sixteen-plus hours. I only know this because at one point I wanted to do stuff with him, and I got the response “RPing right now.” Figured cool, did some other stuff…messaged him three hours later. “Still RPing lol.” At this point it’s like 1 AM so I just went to bed, wake up the next day and talk to him on steam at around like 11AM.

“So I finally just had to tell them it’s really late and I need to go to bed, and got off. Just talked to a guildie…apparently it’s still going.”

That’s some goddamn dedication if I’ve ever seen it.

PS: To answer you question…to which I forgot: Sort of…but I haven’t found a good match yet. But I haven’t ran into any of the snobbery I seem to be finding in WoW.

I had the same thing happen to me on multiple occasions. I don’t know what it is, but I’ve found more people to be snobbish in WoW than in any other game I try to RP in. It’s sad too, because WoW has a lot more going for it than most other games in terms of RP.

Heh, sadly 8 Ball Pool and Hearthstone are the only things I’ve managed to play on my iPhone this weekend and that was while at work.

dirtyklingon I was also relaxing in Windward but unfortunately it gets pretty lonely when going solo. I can see the appeal of the game being mostly with co-op play. None of my steam friends are interested/aware of the game so i had to put it on hold while EVEing around.

EVE and World of Tanks this weekend.
I have a platoon buddy in WoT that only recently picked up the game. He’s loving it and we’re going through the tiers at the same pace so it feels a lot more fun when you have a “permanent” partner in crime. My only problem is the grind for latter tiers and the insane prices for premium tanks.. i just can’t seem to make the in-game silver quickly enough. So many fully researched tanks are waiting to be bought.
As for EVE, i’ve unlocked the level 3 missions and they are a big change from level 2. Fights take a lot longer (even in a battlecruiser), and are a polar opposite of the steamroll of doing 2s in a cruiser. But the rewards match the difficulty, so i’m making a healthy amount of isk off bounties and loot.
Also, i’m going back to planetary interactions from scratch. I forgot how much fun it is even if the ROI is not on par with other activities. Beauty of EVE is that it feels like there are like 5 games packaged into one, with almost completely different mechanics. And i’m still sticking with being full carebear with 0 PVP :)

Funny that there’s a thing like that in RIFT. It’s called: Play Manugo.
Ppl just need to puch free buttons around Plane of Water and the “numbers” increase for… nobody knows. I think it is the most nonsense and mysterious thing to do in any mmo i’ve seen.
