Here’s what Civ Online’s industrial age looks like

Civilization Online

XLGAMES and 2K have released some new screenshots of Civilization Online (you know, that Civ title that currently has no plans to release in the western market!).

Steparu has posted the shots and frankly, they’re gorgeous, even if the game in question seems a bit out of our reach at the moment. Civ Online is a faction-based PvP MMORPG where players must work within their faction to progress through the game’s various eras. Like its offline namesake, Civilization Online will feature various win conditions apart from world domination.

That does look nice.  I like games where the 3D and perspective seems truer… it’s definitely not equal in every game.

I like how the XL Games have no intentions or desires to fix any of the massive issues in AA. Hackers roam free, there is still no ability que. They released western version without any adaptations needed for an MMO to be viable outside of Korea – even there, ArcheAge failed miserably. But hey, since the scum already milked the money from western release, why not just put the project on life support, delay the 1.7 westeren release to give an impression of continued development, so that western players will dish out more cash, thinking the game will be developed further – which is a lie, 1.7 was out before AA was even released in NA/EU. And focus on another title entirely.

What a money-milking assholes.

You have no idea what you’re talking about. The whales buy alot more than just fluff, like the best gear, mounts in the game. A true whale will funnel thousands into the legal RMT system Trion has set up and 2 shot 99% of the server, no grinding or raiding required.

The labor system is a pretty good idea, it keeps 24/7 shut-ins from dominating the game.
A lot of people “subscribe” for free, by paying in game cash to whales.  With two such accounts you never need to pay real cash for labor potions (or anything).
If whales want to pay everyone’s subscription by buying lots of fluff, that’s not the worst thing in the world.

No hope for this game, I wouldn’t touch it wit ha ten foot pole even if it did come to the states.  If ArcheAge was anything to go by it’d be a digusting cash crab with grindy content and very little in the way of actually being fun.  Not to mention the few videos I’ve seen for this game makes it look like an ArcheAge clone down to many of the animations and “features” this game has.  None of which were that interesting in AA once you actually got to do them for awhile.  Sieges least of all.  Blegh.

Always wondered where the origins of Kawaii Pop originated. History now shows us.

Not coming here, not on my radar. The days of neglecting the Western market should have died a long time ago. I have zero respect for companies that refuse t release content here. For that I will click on the next story.
