LOTRO’s update 16 arrives with new instances and LI imbuement

But now, it's more money.

There are phrases you never expect to hear from Lord of the Rings Online patch notes. Like “giant mecha battles” or “featuring voice work by Sting” or “new instance cluster.” But that last one is actually in the patch notes for Update 16. Turbine is adding a new instance cluster containing three new instances for players to explore. No word on giant mecha battles, but I wouldn’t hold my breath on those.

You have more to enjoy this update with the inclusion of the new Legendary imbuement system and four new regions: Upper Lebennin, Osgilliath, Lossarnach, and South Ithillien. Another installment of the epic story and several class adjustments round out the rather prodigious size of the patch.

ashfyn That’s why I’m waiting till the first patch 16.1 to do my imbui’ing. I think early adopters are going to get screwed on this one.

CastagereShaikura im level 9 now and i see a fair number of people scurrying around the Shire on Brandywine at least, which i’m told is the most populous

that is one big patch.   took a while to load it.   I’ve started over with a buddy on Brandywine as a new Hunter.   I will worry about my level 65 on Silverlode later.   The game is sorta different than it was in the first few years, but I don’t mind the streamlining.  I like the more automatic looting.

They should really merge the servers. This game world is so massive now. I love playing my mini. This game is really fun with the right guild which i have. I really like what they are doing with this game. And it really does make a big difference in a game like this to be in the right guild. I just feel bad for new players as the world will seem empty in the low level zones.

Already exists in DDO actually. There’s some interesting particle effects and such you can buy too. Be interesting if it came to LOTRO.

ColdinT MatthewYetter Well, if there’s any truth to what Turbine said, they’re looking into cosmetic weaponry.

MatthewYetter Might come later. The system is pretty scaleable for the most part. So could see it come to low level legendaries by just adding in dozens of additional ranks.

It the Imbuement system applied to all LI’s rather than just level 100, I’d be a lot more interested.  It would be nice if the only time you change to a new LI is because you happened to find one you prefer the looks of.

From what I can tell, there’s no reason not to imbue if you have the legacies you want set. Figuring out what legacies you want though is the hard part.
