SWTOR is on sale at Amazon for May 4
Am I the only Star Wars fan who realizes that May 4th is a dumb day to celebrate the saga? I get it, someone thought it was a clever pun and the same people who greenlighted the prequels agreed. But guess what, it’s not terribly clever and more importantly, nothing of Star Wars consequence happened on May 4th!

Whew. Now that that’s off my chest, here’s the news I actually came into this post to deliver. Star Wars: The Old Republic is on sale at Amazon. You can get a bundle that includes the base game, the Rise of the Hutt Cartel and Shadow of Revan expansions, 60 days of subscription time, and 2400 cash shop coins for $29.99. Ordinarily Amazon sells this digital download for $39.99.

It’s for a very simple reason, IMO:  Memorial Day, when ANH actually came out, is already taken.  (Just a bit.)

So instead of the end of the month, they do it at the beginning.  Simple.

I love May The Fourth. At least it’s an American holiday. Unlike Cinco de Mayo, which I get so tired of hearing about.

Oh boo hiss on the nay-sayers!  lol  I loves me a good knock, knock joke too.  My motto is, let your hair down and be silly once a year.

salidar Strangepowers Why? Redundancy that’s why. My point was made with one post, the other was not needed as it basically said the same thing.

salidar Estranged DigitalQ Unless they make a movie out of it, they have no reason to make it canon. The removal of the EU was only done so they could develop the universe as they saw fit and wouldn’t be beholden to what the other writers have done.

I really don’t see them ever making a TOR movie. If you remember the launch of SWTOR how long did it take SW fans to understand that this takes place 3k years in the past and there are lots of sith running around. How tiring was it to read some post from someone who thought they stumbled onto a great break in the lore by having more than 2 sith in the game and was outraged by it.
Now try and explain that to a casual SW watcher…..uggh.
