Reposted from the previous NewEgg deals thread…

I have to say to the MOP staff that I applauded the team up with NewEgg, as I have a business account through them, and they are an amazing company. I will say however, that I am a bit disappointed with the options you have been choosing the last few times. I expected the deals to be targeted towards the MMO gamer, or Gamers in general….but stuff like speakers that look like rocks, or a flashlight, or God forbid a scooter that has 2 reviews, one of them talking about how it died, cannot be fixed, and about how the company that sold it is crap does not seem very gamer-centric to me.

Please rethink the offers you put up and consider choosing things that revolve around the gamers that come to the site everyday. Since the things bought help to support MOP, choose things we will actually buy to support you. Office chairs, monitors, keyboards, USB hubs, flash drives, etc.

These words were brought to you by a concerned MOP fan.

I confess, the mention of the slow cooker makes me want good chili.

In my universe, “good chili” is more than just how much meat can be crammed into it, and more than just how unbearably spicy someone can make it. I want something filling and tasty, not just something which will dissolve my intestines.

If anybosy’s got a good chili recipe they want to link for me, feel free. I can trade you a personal-favorite recipe for Pasta Putanesca, if that sweetens the deal

dirtyklingon Yep, we have two slow cookers we frequently use. Since the kids are all off at college we tend to like to cook things that we can make and then do quick reheats, like stews and such. :) I’m also amused that Newegg sells one. heh

dirtyklingon Pandalulz Yeah, that’s what we use the big one for.  The wife and I both work like 50 hours a week and have a five year old, so it’s the only way we can manage to eat home cooked stuff half the time.

dirtyklingon Pandalulz My wife is a bit crazy though.  We have this one, a couple of smaller basic units, and one of the three bowl units for hardcore buffet potlucking.  She has a problem, though she won’t admit it.  And that’s only one set of kitchen implements…

dirtyklingon I have the older of this slow cooker and it’s amazing!  It has a timer built in, so I’ll throw stuff in it before I leave for work, and you set the timer, and it will cook on high for whatever time you set it for, and then when the timer ends, it’ll drop to low and simmer until I get home.  And the other thing that’s hard to see in the picture is that it has clips that hold the top on, so I can fill it full of stuff, throw it in the car, not worry about it spilling, and then turn it on when I get to the potluck or whatever.  Mine has a built-in spoon holder, but this one has a spoon that clips to the lid it appears.  I made fun of my wife for buying the fanciest slow cooker, but secretly I’m in love with it.
