An all-Death Knight party downs the current apex of World of Warcraft raiding

So, what’s the best group composition for endgame raiding in World of Warcraft? It looks like it’s Death Knights. Just a bunch of Blood-spec Death Knights. Sure, you have no healing or DPS, but a group consisting of 10 such Death Knights was able to down Blackhand in Heroic Blackrock Foundry without needing any of those other roles. Have you managed to do that with nine other people mirroring your spec?

According to the players behind the victory, the fight became a great deal more hectic due to the lack of specific tanks, but the group pulled out the win despite the madness of the mechanics. Next plan: taking on Mythic Highmaul with twice as many Death Knights. Form your own conclusion.

Incidentally, it’s also the decade anniversary of that intensely stupid Leeroy Jenkins video, so feel free to pepper your words today with references to it.

Title is a little misleading.  Heroic Blackrock isn’t the “apex” of raiding right now.  Heroic is just the old normal mode Pre-WoD.

Bannex19 And yet again, people just casually forget City of Heroes, which chucked the trinity out on its arse right from the get go.
Want a team of all Tanks? Go for it. All Defenders (support class/heals/buff and debuff)? You sure can! Only Scrappers (melee DPS) or Blasters (ranged DPS)? No problem, chief!

When will people move away from this old, tired, boring shit of FORCING people to have a dedicated Tank, Heal and DPS in games? I still don’t think I can drag myself back to WoW or SWToR, even though at the moment there are no real alternatives for me, simply because leveling as anything other than DPS is slow and grindy as hell, yet trying to get a slot in dungeons or raids as DPS is bloody impossible because of the stupid way the system is.
Wake UP people, innovation is there and it’s been tested and it’s FUN. Remember that thing that used to be relevant? Bloody strewth….

Yes it is done for pvp…DKs solo their asses 3 expansions now. As far ad they are not op in pvp it does not matter.
To be clear i dont mind classes be op and fun, i just hate the nerfs because of pvp, in all games.

A good geared rogue could almost cap on dodge.. and there was a green trinket from peninsula all rogues had that on use gave lot of dodge..and another trinket, badge of tenacity if i remember…
So effectively you could rotate through those trinkets and evasion ability. But i doubt they can fully tank him all the way…maybe in some parts of the fight..
