MapleStory 2 ends Korean CBT, eyes July open beta

Expect to hear a lot more about MapleStory 2 now that the game has wrapped up with its Korean closed beta test cycle. Steparu.com reports that with the CBT done with, the game is now preparing to head into open beta in the region this July. MapleStory 2 is the 3-D sequel to Nexon’s long-running MapleStory, and boasts a world so intensely cute that it must be spelled as “kuwte.”

Steparu says that there was “a lot of positive feedback” from testers and commented that grinding mobs ended up providing a faster leveling experience than questing. One neat detail of the game mentioned was how it allows players to whip up outfits and sell their designs to the community. In fact, you can check out MapleStory 2’s outfit designer in a video after the break!

CistaCista japanese have traditionally been console and handheld gamers, due to the influence of companies like nintendo. Koreans have been more pc and phone gamers, due to their government going balls to the wall with infrastructure investment into online technologies during the 1990s. The american government did something similar, but american telecoms basically stole the money and then used part of said money to lobby congress to redefine the terms of ‘high speed internet’ so that they wouldnt get in trouble for their shenanigans.

OS X (and Safari) natively support HTML5 – that’s the result of a battle Steve Jobs waged on Flash however many years ago. Video card drivers are up to date and working fine, so it must be because there’s some codec that Safari doesn’t have installed and is unfamiliar with; unlike Firefox or IE, it isn’t prompting me to install whatever is missing, because Macs are simple.

I get none of these options, just blank, white space. I’ll take a look on my Windows 7 machine or maybe hop into Boot Camp and mess around with Googling whatever extension is being used. The source link has a spot for a video, but none there, too.

In my world CBT means Computer Based Training (aka e-learning). That heading made no sense in my mind.

I hate TLAs.

So… is anybody able to tell me what format the video on this page is in? I’m using Safari 8.0.6 in Mac OS X Yosemite and I don’t even see a video. Other videos embedded from YouTube display fine, but I don’t get an error or a pop-up or anything: the video is just straight up not there.

Oh those pigtails….
…I think it’s one of those games I could get lost in it’s character creator for hours in day alone! o.O
(And that outfit is very Miku, btw!)

I’ll be playing MS2 until Nexon adds miracle cubes then I’ll quit.

Nope, Korean. MS2 is being developed by Nexon AND NCSoft
