Dark Age of Camelot throws Memorial Day bonus weekend

Dark Age of Camelot fans might want to adjust their plans for the upcoming holiday weekend in the US, as Broadsword is turning on the bonus faucet for Memorial Day. From May 22nd through the 29th, players will experience boosts to crafting, XP, realm points, and bounty points.

Word of this event comes from the most recent newsletter. In it, the team announced that Patch 1.118 will begin testing within the next couple of weeks. This patch will start up a new campaign, revamp some of the classic world dungeons, fix pathing in New Frontiers, and make adjustments to the casual group finder.

Past May, DAoC is planning a brand-new festival called the Midsummer’s Inaugural Event. “A new event will of course mean new rewards,” said the team, “but these won’t be earned by just completing a PvE quest; you’ll have to get your hands dirty in RvR!”

I recently reopened my account without access to my old email adress, but i had a few hints for broadsword. They have been very helpful and reopened it after i could prove my identity.
Actually after playing for around a month i have to say that you probably will not miss anything from your old account. I stopped playing shortly after TOA and nowadays so much has changed and leveling & templating is quite easy.
And the game is really enjoyable, they did a great job with balancing and the new features. Surprisingly the game feels better to me than many actual MMORPG’s, but thats probably because i am to old for them :-)

It surprises me every year how well DAoC’s look has aged, considering it’s not nearly as stylized as many games that came after it.

Ehra I’d probably revisit it off and on but I have absolutely zero clue as to any of my old account information and I put so much time into it back in the day I can’t quite bring myself to start over either.

The stunning fact is… DAOC players are getting more features and updates than Elder Scrolls Online AvA players.

I go back and play it 2 or 3 months a year. It’s got a small but generally stable population.

Every time I go back I tell myself that I’m going to try maining a melee class then I remember that I never could get the hang of landing side styles in PvP. Then I just go back to playing something cheesy like a Bonedancer or a lifetap nuker.

Still having trouble remembering who Broadsword and Daybreak are.

You know, I haven’t played DAoC in years but it’s nice to know it’s still chugging along after all this time.
