Star Trek Online Iconian War featured episode delayed

The Iconian War is hot stuff in Star Trek Online these days, but players will need to cool their heels due to a “critical technical issue” that is causing a delay of the next update.

Executive Producer Steve Ricossa broke the bad news to players on the official site, saying that the team will need to delay the next featured episode, House Pegh, until May 28th. Originally, the episode was slated to be released today.

“We could release the episode as it sits on our current build, but after a leads playtest today we determined that we would rather wait a week and release the episode as it is intended to be,” Ricossa said. He followed that up by saying that when the episode goes live, players will be allowed to pick their bonus reward for each of the first three weeks following the patch.

RicharddeLeonIII CastagereShaikura Durenas BKone If there was no daily cap, the price of a coin of zen would be astronomically higher than it is now. People would be complaining that they can’t buy anything at all on the c-store without investing months of effort in dil refining.

Trust me. The daily cap is there to keep things reasonable, and allow F2P players to have a means by which we can access the paid stuff.

mysecretid johnmynard I agree, and notice the same things said about Neverwinter, and Champions Online when it get’s mentioned. And much of what they say is down right false, or not even close to being on the level they make it out to be. It easy to tell that most of them have never even played the game and are going off what others say.

mysecretid johnmynard What you call ‘cynicism’ some of us call ‘experience.’ Specifically experience with Cryptic Studios and Star Trek Online.

I like the fact they are delaying the episode for quality control.  Nothing worse than a buggy mission to kill one’s enthusiasm.  Besides, it gives me another week to farm the current featured episodes for my various 50s toons.

CastagereShaikura Durenas BKone I’m with you on the cap, I dont like it.  But lord knows if the cap wasnt there I would be playing STO to unhealthy levels at least until I hit the gear cap with a toon.

I’m a huge Star Trek Online fan but I generally ignore the comments on STO posts here on Massively (I only noticed yours in passing)
For whatever reason, STO articles here at MOp are like a lightning-rod for people disgruntled with the game. There are no actual discusiions to be had, and attempts at actual discussion typically get hijacked by the bile brigade.
So, take my suggestion: read the articles, skip the comments.
The joke we had here a while back went like this: those of us who actually enjoy STO are busy playing the game, leaving no one here but the angry. :-)
Be well,

CastagereShaikura Durenas BKone A cap limits what grinders can accomplish. It also keeps the prices on things down to a reasonable level.

Durenas CastagereShaikura BKone Thats pretty good then. But wouldn’t you rather there was no cap to began with? I know i do. And they have so many other ways they are making money in the game. It just feels sleazy to me to do this.
