If you had been under the impression that World of Warcraft‘s personal loot was already equivalent in reward amounts to group loot, well… maybe not, as the most recent development post specifically states that the former is being changed to match the latter. But the good news is it will change to that in the game’s next patch, along with item rewards offering a wider variety of stats for a wider variety of playstyles. There are a fair number of changes, all of which should be relevant to players ready to charge into Hellfire Citadel on release.
More interested in the upcoming movie? There’s a solid compilation of information about what we know so far. We also know that at least in an early draft of the script, WoW‘s most famous memetic hero had a role to play that revolved around doing what he does best.
RicharddeLeonIII they kill archimonde, the fel iron horde is gone and so is the legion and the patch brings the timless isle catchup for alts gear back. This aint no mid expansion patch dude. This is the end.
Cosmic Cleric there are so many problems with the latest wow expansion that this is barley a blip. Thought will say the RNG crap they put in this expansion was a horrible idea but it just one of so many bad ideas implemented in this one.
Seems weird to me that this topic only got eleven comments. Especially since its a WoW topic.
I don’t know, I still prefer raiding with people that I know and trust
rather than PUGs… Personal loot is more for PUGs that don’t know/trust
each other than established progression raiding guilds. Unless I am
missing something, loot still should scale with the difficulty of the
raid, but initially regardless of raid difficulty personal loot was of
lower item level than group loot. In theory I like personal loot for PUGs, but because of the lower item level people still used master looter, which led to a lot of ninja looting and drama. As someone who did progression raiding, I don’t mind PUGs getting Raid Finder level loot when they successfully complete it, nor do I mind them getting Heroic level loot if they successfully complete it. I think my gripe was that the loot should be completely different for Raid Finder, and there should be more and more different items the higher the difficulty level. There just isn’t/wasn’t enough differentiation between loot. Them making personal loot lower item level didn’t really address the issue most raiders had with it, and hence was pointlessly hindering PUG raiders from getting reasonable loot for their trouble.I long for the days in WoW when you could look at someone and instantly tell they were a high end raider because they had a certain piece/set of gear.
That line from the blog post blows my mind: “Bring Personal Loot up to be competitive with Group Loot”.
Are they trying to completely remove any gameplay reason to play with other people in that game? Last time I’ve checked, MMOs are supposed to be multiplayer :|
Gear based games make baby jesus cry.
I wish they had some other forms of end game progression that wasn’t just raiding.
I wish they would shake up the classes with more complexity, but i guess im wishing for too much for a midexpansion patch >.<.
I know this is the antithesis of the way the gear treadmill works but I wish they would just let the players  spend the attribute points where ever they want. The number of points you get is based on your items ILevels. They could either be changeable on sliders or a one time stat assignment. This would solve a LOT of there square peg round hole problems. They are just too scared of removing the skinner box elements from there gear grind.
This reeks a little too much of launch diablo 3. Im fully expecting spirit/versatility/multistrike gear and worse.
