The Stream Team: Gotta steal them all in GTA Online

12

It’s no secret that appropriating cars is a major component of GTA Online; besides giving you a set of wheels for those moments when walking simply isn’t the safest option, it’s also a way to pad your wallet. As a car lover, MassivelyOP’s MJ loves taking various vehicles for a spin. And there are so many awesome cars out there to choose from! Tune in live at 8:00 p.m. as she creatively borrows a few more models to test drive.

Sorry for the non-sequitur here, but I don’t have a twitch account to message you there and I didn’t know where else would be best to leave it, so…

If you’re going to start doing heists (or any combat heavy mission really) a handy tip is to setup an outfit with a heavy utility vest and a bullet proof helmet. The vest reduces most damage done to your health by half, and the helmet increases the number of head shots it takes to kill you from one to three for most guns (two from the .50 sniper rifle).

They make a big difference in terms of survivability, the down side is that the vest slows down your movement by a bit. Which is why it’s nice to have it on an outfit slot so you can switch it and out of it as needed (you need to set the heist outfits to player choice though so people can use their outfit slots).

You can get the helmet and the vest from the clothing stores. There’s a tab for the helmets on the hat racks, and the vests are on the torso displays under either the utility tab or the heist or something like that. The helmets come in a few colours, but the vest just comes in black and grey (the stealth vest doesn’t reduce damage afaik). It also looks ridiculously huge on female characters, but at least it keeps you alive :/ .

Hopefully that’s of some help to you guys.

Anyway, more on topic at hand, GTAO is at least more massive than a MOBA. And it could be worse, a certain other large MMO site has started covering straight up single player rpgs ;) .

bryanjturner This site has covered not so massively games for a very, very long time.  And this game is still more of an MMO than some so-called MMOs out there, so yes — it fits perfectly on this site.

I get, it’s a great game, but not an MMO/MOBA; didn’t realize this was a Joystiq article.

SuppliesATK No convictions in here — the police kill you for every infraction.

bryanjturner GTA Online beats them for being a vibrant vitual world. Too bad your definition of MMOs can’t produce an equal.

If I’m drunk, and then steal a car, will I get convicted on two different felonies?
