Villagers and Heroes gets a do-over with Reborn

Class-based sandbox Villagers and Heroes is looking to update its image in the coming weeks as the title reinvents itself as Villagers and Heroes: Reborn.

While Mad Otter Games is marketing this as an “expansion,” Reborn looks as though it’s a true reboot of the 2014 2010 title with an improved feature set. The studio released a new website for the event last week and has been doling out information about Reborn ever since, including character creation and the lands players will explore.

Villagers and Heroes is a free-to-play sandbox with a flexible gear system that allows players to live in a RuneScape-like world and build up a life for themselves. More information about Reborn, including in-game activities and a launch date, will be revealed in the coming days on the site.

Lag… enough said

dead economy…there is a laughable auction house
low player base…guilds seem to jump at new people to fill required

village space, then offer little help
Updates are very rare…On the forums you can see it’s at most over a month, more likely 2+
unless it’s a minor patch to update newly created bugs from the last update
SLOW Customer Support…Do not lose sleep waiting for the response
Locked toons…Once you create a toon, you cannot change once you realize it’s not for you
Storage…As with most games, you start with a laughable amount of space, but they are more
than happy to sell you more
Feel free to try, who am I to not share the joke… Cheers

I really like this game, it’s crafting is fun and with the update removing the Vim system the game should be even better. The biggest issue I have with this game is how clunky it is. Movement feels terrible and no amount of adjusting ever makes it feel alright. Jumping is the worst especially when going to hidden areas the game itself sometimes seems to lag out when I do that.

I hope to hear something about some improvement for the client because without those I don’t know if I can get myself to play it anymore even though I have really enjoyed it.

I would play the $%^& out of this game if the combat was more polished. It’s currently very disjointed and far from fun.

I forgot what the issue was but the big update last year along with the standalone client had some things that bothered me. So, I stopped playing.

ntellect It has a client now.  It was in-browser a while back, but that was preventing us from making the world look like this: http://imgur.com/a/hRzzX

Downloaded, tried, got to a quest that introduces 10xloot booster from the cash shop. No thank you.

Well I never played this game although it has intrigued me in the past.  Just looked at the website and seems to have some interesting elements, might have to pull my son from “Train your dragon” MMO and see if this would be something he and I could play together.  Seems like a good starter MMO.  Will watch and see what reborn does.

Finally the developers are getting it. We want a sandbox with RPG elements allowing us to figure out how to play. I also love how this game has a ‘simple’ look to it. You don’t need to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to make a great game.
Reborn is looking to offer what I thought was missing.
I forgot, does this game have a client? I think it was Web based only when I played.

MMO devs take note: want a guaranteed way for me to give your game a chance?  Post in the MOP comments sections when an article about your game comes up.  I appreciate the candor and the willingness to engage.  Props to Damon Slye
