If we could see off this mountain.

Looking forward to playing Voxelnauts? So are lots of people on Steam, it appears; as the game approaches the halfway point in its Kickstarter campaign, it’s successfully been greenlit. It’s good news for everyone hoping to nab the game via that popular service and a good sign of the title’s positive word of mouth thus far.

There are 17 days remaining in the crowdfunding campaign as of this writing, with the total goal a little under halfway. To reward backers and onlookers alike, the team has released a new video showing off the game’s teleportation, which you can check out just below.

Saerain agemyth Ironwu Yes, our engine allows voxels of any depth, and our world blocks work in powers of 2 :) so 16x16x16, 32x32x32, 64x… etc

Lights_andMusic PizzaDoh Ironwu Armsbend Vithorai I don’t think they’re dead, but games like minecraft provide a very similar stimulation.

I think Lego World holds the potential to be a huge future for legos though.

agemyth Ironwu I would bet, and hope, that they’re here to stay as hardware enables smaller and smaller voxels, and better voxel animation, until there’s no real reason to use triangles anymore. They’re just obviously the preferable model for the future.

“I disagree. Minecraft has more or less “replaced” legos as each generation of children moves more and more into digital media rather than physical. ”

Okay.  I’ll just leave this here then.  It’s an article about how LEGO became the industry leader/world’s largest toy company last year by surpassing Mattel.

You’re probably right though, LEGOs are dead.

Armsbend PizzaDoh These days, Minecraft is much more accessible via pricing an no need for storage. Although nothing quite beats the feeling of having tangible Lego pieces, especially if you want to make a foot death trap.

Game hasn’t been “funded” yet, but Steam has greenlit it. Steam Greenlight is such a meaningless feature.
