WRUP: Fallout Seven or whatever edition

Boy, the angry emails I'm writing for myself.

Folks, the big video game news this week was confirmation that Fallout Something is going to be released! Through powerful kung fu focusing mostly on kicks powered by guns, I’ve obtained some new information about the game that I somewhat bothered to remember. The game will take place in some part of Rhode Island on an average Saturday and features giant ants, even gianter ants, mutated beasts known as “mutated beasts,” a really mean guy named Steve Somerhausen, and ants so big that the earlier ants are no longer in the game because these ants are, like, so big you guys.

Are you going to be flinging yourself into the bathtub while fully clothed over this news? Let us know about that in the comments because it’s time for What Are You Playing! And it’s also the first time that we’ve got some of our marvelous Patreon backers in the mix for this week’s writeup, so let’s find out what people are playing for the weekend.

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): Marvel Heroes for me. I am all about the free stuff and cheap sales, and that game feels like a party on a normal day, forget a huge anniversary. See you guys there!

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): I might actually take part in the big Fallout sale that’s going on over on Steam right now; as of this writing I haven’t actually decided. I’m in a bit of a gaming lull whilst I wait for Final Fantasy XIV‘s expansion, but I’m sure I’ll find something to do in WildStar and World of Warcraft.

Justin Olivetti (@Sypster, blog): Marvel Heroes‘ anniversary event XP is very, very hard to ignore, especially with a crop of new heroes under my wing, so I’ll be spending several hours speed-leveling a few heroes to the cap. I got Doctor Doom too, so I’m looking forward to taking the evil overlord out for a test drive. Apart from that, there’s plenty to do in WildStar, including setting up a brand-new house.

MJ Guthrie (@MJ_Guthrie, blog): I will be spending plenty of time on my chopper, cruising The Secret World. Other than that, it will be some reveling and loot hording in Marvel Heroes, some Landmark building with family and friends, a bit of ArcheAge farming on my new giant farm plot, some fort building and zombie slaying in H1Z1, and hopefully at least one Heritage Quest in EverQuest II. I have lots of gaming to catch up on after the last couple of weeks!

DirtyKlingon (@deekay_zero): Oh wow, the air is so thin up here! Anyway, I’ve been derping around in super casual mode in WildStar this week, as well as making plans to dip my toes into The Repopulation and see what’s what since the last time I popped in some months ago. Also finally got some much-needed dice rolling in in our Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition Western Marches campaign via roll20.net. Super-exciting fun times!

Jagmas (@jagmas, blog): I just got my Ark: Survival Evolved server set up, so I am hoping to spend most of my time playing there. If there is any time left over, I’ll split it between The Witcher 3 and a scheduled Shards Online playtest this weekend.

Brandon “KythasWraith” Adams: Between being deployed and “volunteering” for special duties, I hope to get some time in with both The Witcher 3 and Final Fantasy XIV whenever I can this “weekend” (I genuinely thought it was Tuesday today). I have to make that pre-Heavensward gil at some point.
