Sword and Bored: Ranged Class

My favorite classes to play are melee. I don’t know why, but I like to be in the middle of the fray, stabbing the boss with my sword or lightsaber or other pointy object. However, I know as well as any other player the pitfalls of playing a melee class. That just doesn’t stop me from advocating the melee-friendly boss fight.

Our best friend, Mo, is now learning the problems of being a melee class and leveling up around other players who can out-distance him. However, I think Mo might actually be getting used to how this game works now. Let’s check out this week’s comic…

Crow God ImrarTheomen You’re right, the oiled men must have clouded my memory. I stand corrected. They indeed wore a bronze armour.

Apollymi Crow God Well, fair enough. The oiled up Spartans was probably the less problematic aspect of the movie, oppose to its bias stance on the Persian Invasion.

ImrarTheomen Crow God Except where Spartans renown for their heavy bronze armor such as much as with their shields and spears and martial arts?

:D I see Millar sweating over the paper drawing oiled men.

Although in reality it was not an aesthetic choice, metal was hard to come by those days. In some parts more than in others. Spartans covered the lack of armor with a huge shield and a good tactic.

Crow God  “Think about it, his idea of the Spartans are a bunch of buff, oiled up, Greek men running around in loin cloth.”

I see no problem with this.  lol

Ah, 300. The movie/comic that really makes me question Frank Millar’s sexuality.
Think about it, his idea of the Spartans are a bunch of buff, oiled up, Greek men running around in loin cloth. You know what’s a pretty terrible tactic for winning a battle? Running around with no armor. The only logic for such aesthetic choice I can surmise is that they were intended as eye candy for Millar’s fantasy. >->

I’m really starting to like Amilya. Maybe it’s cause I’m a role player myself. Hope we see more of her and Mcstabsalot. Ninja needs to get what’s coming to him.
Hmm, yknow, I sometimes here from players that they like roleplaying servers more than others because the people are often much nicer. That true in general? Competitive players just naturally more aggressive and critical towards others?

Well it can do both ways, especially if you’re playing a ranged class with a cast time. Many times I get to the end of a cast right before some melee guy comes and insta hit it…

Robert80 Vexia I think I probably do have it a lot better than people in the past did because shared tagging has become more of a thing, but you’re right that it’s frustrating when more games don’t adopt that one simple quality-of-life feature, or any number of others for that matter.
